Description
• Lead the design, planning and delivery (including logistics, procurement/contracting, dissemination, and evaluation) of workshops, webinars, study tours, twinning exchanges, and other interactive learning and knowledge events.
• Lead and contribute to the development of online learning modules, training materials, and other products intended to drive knowledge exchange and build technical capacities.
• Establish and support communities of practice and thematic learning networks across regions and technical topics.
• Contribute to the systematic documentation of lessons learned, good practices, and results emerging from GWP country projects and other global experiences.
• Facilitate the integration of monitoring and evaluation data into knowledge activities by assessing program results and analyzing data to identify good practices, common challenges, and learning priorities.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of the GWP knowledge management approach, including identifying new interactive learning approaches and opportunities to strengthen peer-to-peer exchange.
• Coordinate GWP activities with other GEF Integrated Programs, technical partners, and World Bank Group Knowledge Platforms, regional units, country offices, and verticals.
• Represent ENV and the GWP in relevant internal and external meetings, workshops, and learning events, as required.
• Contribute to GWP program management functions, including work planning, coordination, tracking of deliverables, progress reporting, and management briefings.
Selection Criteria
The educational and professional qualifications for a successful candidate include the following:
• Master’s degree in a related field, such as environment, natural resources management, international development, information, communications, or knowledge management.
• At least 5 years of relevant professional experience, preferably in environment or development-related fields.
• Demonstrated experience in knowledge management with proven ability to plan and implement knowledge management strategies, peer-to-peer learning platforms, capacity development, and knowledge exchange events.
• Working knowledge of key issues related to biodiversity conservation is an advantage. Familiarity with issues related to wildlife conservation and management, such as illegal wildlife trade, human-wildlife coexistence, protected and conserved area management, wildlife economic activities, etc, is a strong advantage.
• Working knowledge of World Bank Group instruments, trust funds, and operations is an advantage.
• Strong analytical, organizational, facilitation and communication skills, including familiarity with knowledge and collaboration tools.
• Experience in program/project management, including work planning, budgeting, procurement support, and report writing.
• Demonstrated professional experience working in at least one developing or emerging economy is required. Experience across two or more regions (specifically Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Caribbean) is a strong advantage.
• Professional English language skills are required; familiarity with French or Spanish is desirable but not necessary.
