Under the overall supervision of the Global Office Director and the Head Global Programme Support Unit and the direct supervision of the National Programme Officer, the Programme Support Associate (PSU) provides support to donor and thematic teams in the Global Programmes Unit in the areas of project support and knowledge management.
Update and maintain trackers and filing systems to record, for example, USG funded awards, reports, and correspondence.
Draft reports, tables, briefs, talking points, and other reporting products to support GO Washington leadership, the Global Programmes team and HQ.
Respond to general information requests and inquiries on IOM programming that is funded by the USG.
Provide support to the organization of visits by IOM staff from HQ, regional and country offices, as needed.
Assist in the review and submission of project proposals, reports, and other project deliverables.
Provide ad hoc support to donor and thematic teams in the Global Programmes Unit when required to cover staff gaps or shortages or respond to workload surges.
Collect and compile information on current and prospective USG funding.
Carry out general administrative support for the Global Programmes Unit.
Undertake duty travel as needed.
Perform any other duties that may be assigned.
EDUCATION
• High school diploma with at least five years of relevant professional experience; or
• Bachelor’s degree in Political or Social Sciences, International Relations, Development Studies, Migration Studies, Human Rights, Law or related fields from an accredited academic institution with at least three years of relevant professional experience
EXPERIENCE
• Experience in programme support, administrative support, or databases management.
• Experience working with USG-funded programmes or familiarity with donor requirements is an advantage.
• Experience liaising with governmental authorities, national/international institutions, United Nations agencies and non-governmental organizations.
• Prior experience with international organizations or multicultural environment is desirable.
SKILLS
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint.
• Good organizational and communication skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work effectively in a team and meet deadlines.
• Good writing and basic research skills.
Languages
IOM’s official languages are English, French, and Spanish.
REQUIRED
For this position, fluency in English is required (oral and written).
