Mission and objectives

With its establishment on 7 April 1948, WHO (World Health Organization) works worldwide to promote health, keep the world safe, and serve the vulnerable. WHO’s goal is to ensure that a billion more people have universal health coverage, to protect a billion more people from health emergencies, and provide a further billion people with better health and well-being.

Context

The purpose of this assignment is to ensure the linguistic accuracy, consistency and readability of the Turkish adaptation of the WHO iSupport programme. The assignment aims to deliver a publication-ready Turkish version of the iSupport manual through comprehensive proofreading and editorial quality assurance. The final objective is to produce a coherent, accessible and technically accurate document.

Task Description

The purpose of this assignment is to ensure the linguistic accuracy, consistency and readability of the Turkish adaptation of the WHO iSupport programme. The assignment aims to deliver a publication-ready Turkish version of the iSupport manual through comprehensive proofreading and editorial quality assurance. The final objective is to produce a coherent, accessible and technically accurate 275-page document within a one-month timeframe. · review the full Turkish translation for grammar, spelling and punctuation accuracy; · improve readability, flow and clarity while preserving the original meaning; · identify and correct inconsistencies, repetitions and structural issues; · ensure the text is culturally appropriate and non-stigmatizing; · coordinate with the technical team to resolve terminology queries where necessary; · track revisions and provide a clean, finalized version of the document; · deliver the fully proofread document within the agreed timeline.
