Through our Volunteering for Development (VfD) approach, we put the most marginalised people first. Grounded in years of evidence and learning, this approach develops active citizens who drive local community-led change and deliver sustainable development goals long after a project or grant ends.
VSO Boards are diverse, with members reflecting various backgrounds, difference in expertise, gender, race, and experience. All board members are committed to practising inclusion to fulfil VSO’s mission of bringing people together to address marginalisation and strengthen societies through volunteering for development.
Our board members contribute alongside primary actors, employees, volunteers, and our partner organisations to strengthen communities and societies. The trustee role in this is one of governance and leadership.
As a Trustee of VSO Ireland, you will provide governance, strategic oversight, and leadership helping steer a mission-driven organisation that empowers marginalised communities through volunteering.
Are you passionate about inclusion, equality, and sustainable development? Able to bring strategic thinking and sound judgement at board level and you are Experienced in governance or eager to contribute at a leadership level? If yes, you could help shape lasting change.
