These internships are located in the Anti-Racism Office. The Anti-Racism Office was established by the UN General Assembly in the Department of Management Strategy, Policy and Compliance (DMSPC) to oversee, coordinate and monitor the implementation of the Strategic Action Plan on Addressing Racism and Promoting Dignity for All. The mandate of the Anti-Racism Office is to address racism within the UN Secretariat and promote a zero-tolerance approach to racism and racial discrimination. The Anti-Racism Office operates under three pillars: 1. Advocacy: Raise awareness about racism and racial discrimination within the UN through training programmes and awareness raising events to enhance knowledge, foster dialogue and promote behavioural change among leaders and staff. 2. Transparency: Review organizational policies, analyze workforce data and share data on management practices to promote transparency. 3. Accountability: Hold managers and senior leaders accountable for a non-discriminatory work environment, create safe spaces for reporting incidents, build trust in the justice system and effectively address complaints. The interns will work under the direct supervision of the Senior Programme Management Officers. The interns will support the work of the Anti-Racism Office across its functional pillars, as follows: Advocacy:  Support the preparation of internal communication and outreach materials to raise awareness and promote an anti-racism culture.  Assist in drafting background notes, talking points, summaries, articles and other written materials.  Help organize dialogues, discussions, talks and staff engagement activities on anti-racism topics.  Support coordination, follow-up and documentation related to advocacy activities and events.  Contribute to initiatives that promote participation in anti-racism programmes and events celebrating racial diversity and tolerance. Transparency:  Assist in compiling, cleaning and organizing qualitative and quantitative information for internal analysis and reporting.  Support the preparation of presentations, tables, charts, graphs and other materials for review by senior officers.  Contribute to maintaining reference materials, trackers, databases and other working files.  Assist in organizing data and information in a clear and accessible manner for internal use. Accountability:  Conduct desk research and compile information from a range of sources on anti-racism, human rights and related topics.  Support drafting of reports, briefing materials and research inputs related to the implementation of the Strategic Action Plan.  Assist with meeting notes, action points, document management and other programme support tasks.  Support the preparation and follow-up of internal activities linked to the Office’s mandate.  Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
