Mission and objectives
GLOWA fights against human trafficking and the damage it creates in our communities throughout the Northwest region of Cameroon through community education to prevent trafficking, support for victims, and advocacy on their behalf. Through these works, GLOWA aims to nurture a culture of respect for human rights, particularly those of children and women, in the region and fight against the systematic abuses faced by the most vulnerable.Context
GLOWA implements programs in mental health, gender justice, youth and women’s empowerment, and legal advocacy. A functional and well-configured WordPress site is critical to hosting redesigned content, visual branding, and interactive features. This assignment ensures the website is technically sound, secure, and ready for content integration, enhancing GLOWA’s digital visibility and outreach.Task Description
Global Welfare Association (GLOWA), a women-led grassroots NGO in Cameroon, seeks an Online Volunteer to set up and configure the organization’s WordPress website. The volunteer will install the platform, configure essential plugins, and ensure the site is secure and functional for the redesign. This volunteer will work under the guidance of the Volunteer Team Lead and collaborate with the UI/UX designer to implement approved layouts and visual elements. the tasks and responsibilities of this assignment include: - Install or reconfigure WordPress on the hosting platform - Install and configure recommended themes and essential plugins - Set up security measures and backups - Implement UI/UX design mockups as guided by the designer - Collaborate with the Volunteer Team Lead and other volunteers to ensure alignment with the website structure Deliverables of the assignment: - Fully functional WordPress installation - Installed themes and plugins configured for security and usability - Technical documentation or brief guide for GLOWA staff - Basic testing report ensuring design and functionality are correctly implementedCompetencies and values
