The UN Women Country Programme in Brazil is implemented in line with the national development priorities, as well as in the framework of the international commitments to gender equality and empowerment of women, as well as the UN frameworks and instruments on Human Right, of which Brazil is signatory, such as the CEDAW, CERD, Beijing Platform for Action, Durban Action Plan, Agenda 2030, as well as the UN Security Council Resolutions on Women, Peace and Security. It is aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Partnerships Framework.
The UN Women Country Office in Brazil focuses on three key areas:
UN Women Brazil also coordinates and promotes the UN system’s work in advancing gender equality. As part of the United Nations Country Team, leads the Inter-Agency Thematic Group on Gender, Race and Ethnicity, and actively contributes to the other UN inter-agency mechanisms.
Reporting to the Programme Analyst (N-PPSA 9), the Programme Associate works with and provides support to the members of the Programme Team in the development and implementation of effective programmes consistent with UN Women rules and regulations. The Programme Associate contributes to research, financial management, and programme implementation including providing necessary operational, administrative and programmatic support. The Programme Associate works in close collaboration with the operations, programme and projects’ personnel in the CO and UN Women ACRO and HQ as required for resolving complex finance-related issues and exchange of information.
II. Scope of Work:

Assist in the preparation and follow up of cost-recovery bills in Quantum system.

Provide guidance and training to Programme Assistants as needed.
4. Provide administrative support to Resource Mobilization:
Organize, compile and process information from donors, CO, and programme team, as inputs to various databases and documents.

In July 2010, the United Nations General Assembly created UN Women, the United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women. The creation of UN Women came about as part of the UN reform agenda, bringing together resources and mandates for greater impact. It merges and builds on the important work of four previously distinct parts of the UN system (DAW, OSAGI, INSTRAW and UNIFEM), which focused exclusively on gender equality and women's empowerment.
