    Introduction

    Country: Nepal

    Description of the Assignment:

The United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in Nepal is currently implementing a project Strengthening Health resilience in Nepal-HIV, TB & Malaria (Global Fund) that requires the services of a National Consultant for Conducting the assessment and developing plan and recommendation for Community Based DOTS/Family-Based DOTS in TB to perform the work described as per the attached Terms of Reference (ToR) – Annex 1.

    Objectives of the assignment

This technical assistance aligns with those priorities by focusing on community- and family-based TB care models. It builds on previous grant cycles and policy: while CB/FB-DOTS guidelines exist in Nepal, roll-out has been partial (coverage in select districts). The GC7 funding request explicitly calls for shifting from facility-based DOT to more patient-centered models (community- and family-based DOTS) and exploring digital adherence technologies (DATs) to improve adherence. These community-based approaches have been shown to be feasible and effective in Nepal. The consultant will therefore help the NTP and partners assess current CB/FB-DOTS implementation and develop practical, costed plans to scale them up in line with GC7 and national strategies

Period of assignment/services (if applicable): 30 days spread over two months

Proposal should be submitted directly in the portal no later than indicated deadline.

Any request for clarification must be sent in writing, or by standard electronic communication to the e-mail: query.procurement.np@undp.org mentioning Procurement Notice Ref:XXand title before 5 days of deadline of submission. The procurement unit will respond in writing, including an explanation of the query without identifying the source of inquiry, to all consultants or via bulletin published on the UNDP website: http://www.np.undp. org/content/nepal/en/home/operations/procurement.html. Inquiries received after the above date and time shall not be entertained.
