For every child, the right to be seen

The Fundraising Officer (Sustainable Growth), at the NO‑B level, in the Private Fundraising & Partnerships (PFP) area of UNICEF Chile Country Office, reports to the Fundraising Specialist (NO‑C) responsible for Individual Giving.
The post supports the office to protect and grow its core income engine by strengthening pledge donor retention and lifetime value, and by diversifying individual giving income streams (including legacy), leveraging data, analytics and CRM systems.

How can you make a difference? 

Under the overall supervision of the Fundraising Specialist (NO‑C) (who retains ultimate accountability for results), the Fundraising Officer (Sustainable Growth) provides day‑to‑day coordination and technical support to implement donor retention and value growth strategies, optimize donor journeys and engagement, and support the delivery of the Legacy Giving programme. The role contributes to evidence‑based decision-making through robust business intelligence, analytics and effective use of Salesforce and related systems.
In addition, the post contributes to the strategic integration of individual donors into Partnerships, Advocacy and Child Rights awareness initiatives under a Whole Office Approach, ensuring compliance with UNICEF policies, partnership criteria and ethical standards.

Under the overall guidance and supervision of the Fundraising Specialist (NO-C), and within the delegated authority and organizational set-up, the incumbent may be assigned the primary, shared, or contributory accountabilities for all or part of the following areas of major duties and key end-results.

1.Developing and implementing growth marketing strategies to drive engagement, retention, maximization, and strategic leadership of the channel.1. Sustainable Growth & Donor Retention Strategy (45%)
Lead day-to-day implementation and continuous optimization of the integrated retention and sustainable growth plan for pledge donors (segmentation, engagement, upgrade, reactivation and churn management), aligned with the Annual Work Plan, under the overall guidance of the Fundraising Specialist (NO‑C).

2. Monitor performance against KPIs (e.g., retention/churn, donor value and lifetime value), prepare periodic performance briefs/dashboards, and recommend corrective actions; coordinate implementation with relevant teams and external service providers.

3. Donor Journey Optimization & Engagement Managing the growth marketing budget, including forecasting and tracking expenses.
Map, improve and quality-assure donor journeys and communications (welcome, stewardship, lapse prevention and win-back), ensuring testing and optimization across digital and offline touchpoints and a consistent supporter experience.
Support the integration of individual donor engagement opportunities into broader Partnerships, Advocacy and Child Rights awareness initiatives, contributing to Whole Office Approach objectives while safeguarding UNICEF brand and ethics.

4. Legacy Giving Programme
Support the development and implementation of the Legacy Giving strategy and annual plan, including stewardship of existing legacy commitments/prospects, identification of new opportunities and performance monitoring.

5. Business Intelligence, Salesforce & Data Quality
Provide day‑to‑day oversight of reporting, dashboards and insights to enable decision-making, results tracking and operational follow‑up; support effective use and continuous improvement of Salesforce and related tools, ensuring data quality and documentation.
Provide direct supervision and guidance to the NOA Fundraising Officer (Retention) and the NOA Fundraising Officer (Business Intelligence and Database), including work planning, quality assurance and performance follow‑up, in line with UNICEF policies.

6. Planning, Budget & Vendor Coordination
Contribute to annual planning, forecasting and budget monitoring for the sustainable growth/retention portfolio; support procurement and contract management, ensuring value for money and timely delivery.

This post will contribute with the organizations goals as it will:
- Contributing to the long-term sustainability and growth of individual giving by strengthening pledge donor retention, loyalty and lifetime value.
- Supporting achievement of income, retention and value targets defined in the Annual Work Plan through timely performance monitoring, analysis and corrective actions, under the guidance of the supervisor.
- Supporting the development and scaling of the Legacy Giving programme and other sustainable growth initiatives, contributing to diversified and resilient income streams.
- Strengthening organizational decision-making and efficiency by ensuring accurate, timely and actionable insights through Business Intelligence and Salesforce, enabling effective planning, monitoring and resource allocation.

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

Minimum requirements:

  • Education: University Degree in Business, Communication or Marketing studies is required preferably supplemented by management, advertising, sales or related areas training or university courses in these areas. An advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) is an asset.
  • Work Experience: Minimum of 2 years of progressively relevant work experience in growth or lifecycle marketing, customer/donor engagement and retention (e.g., subscription or membership models), loyalty programmes, or customer service in a results-driven environment, preferably supporting Individual Giving/fundraising programmes.
    Experience in one or more of the following areas is desirable: CRM and marketing automation (ideally Salesforce), segmentation and donor journey management, performance analytics and dashboarding (KPIs, LTV, churn/retention), A/B testing and campaign optimisation, data quality/database management, vendor/agency coordination, and budget tracking. Fundraising, legacy/planned giving and database management experience is an asset.
  • Language Requirements: Fluency in English and Spanish.

Desirables:

  • Relevant experience at country level, particularly in development, fragile settings and humanitarian contexts.
