Job Description

As an Electronics Technician for Electronics Modules Assembly, you will work as a member of the BE-CEM-EPR Team and contribute to assembly subcontracting of the printed circuit board production (PCB). You will first get training on the PCB assembly processes through the equipment installed in the workshop and on the specific quality requirements and applicable acceptance criteria, based on international standards, for the procurement of components and PCB assemblies.

Your responsibilities

  • Quality inspection and validation of electronics modules after productions by qualified contractors.
  • Being involved in procurement of electronic components for production managed internally or by subcontracting.
  • Electronics modules assembly, using dedicated industrial processes.
  • SMD and THT Electronic components manual soldering.
  • Assembly of physic detectors by doing hand soldering of SMD fine pitch connectors.

Your profile

  • Background in electronics and electronics assembly.
  • Ability to interpret assembly files, bills of materials (BoMs), and related technical documentation.

Skills

  • Willingness to gain experience in assembly processes and procurement of electronic components.
  • Self-motivated and enthusiastic.
  • Strong team-working skills.
  • Spoken and written English or French, with a commitment to learn the other language.

Eligibility criteria:

  • You are a national of a CERN Member or Associate Member State.
  • By the application deadline, you have a maximum of two years of professional experience since graduation in Electronics, Mechatronics (or a related field) and your highest educational qualification is a general secondary education diploma.
  • You have never had a CERN fellow or graduate contract before.
  • Applicants with a Bachelor's, Master's or PhD degree are not eligible.

Additional Information

Job closing date: 06.04.2026 at 23:59 CEST.

Contract duration: 24 months, with a possible extension up to 36 months maximum.

Working hours: 40 hours per week

Job flexibility: Fully Onsite

Target start date: 01-May-2026
