What we are looking for

NRC Syria looking for a Risk and Compliance Manager who will be responsible for setting up and managing the Risk Management and Compliance Unit. The role holder will be tasked with ensuring compliance and adherence of all departments on NRC policy and procedures and donor regulations; lead on NRC’s enterprise risk management process to enable the country office management to perform risk management activities and make informed decisions; oversee and coordinate internal and external audits in addition to supporting investigations, anti-corruption framework and related activities at country office level.

What you will do

The role will have some of the following main specific responsibilities:

  • Compliance and quality Assurance

  • Auditing

  • Risk Management

  • Anti-corruption and Investigations

What you will bring

  • Minimum 4 years of experience working in compliance, auditing or risk management functions or working as senior manager in a support function (Finance, logistics, HR), of which 3 years should be manager experience in the humanitarian sector.

  • Experience in compliance, audit, finance, risk management, in the private sector is also valuable.

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant university field (economics, public administration and similar) preferably Internal Audit or Quality Assurance qualification. Master's degree is an added value.

  • Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities.

  • Knowledge and skills in the international regulatory context applicable for INGOs.

  • Knowledge and skills in any of the following: safeguarding, accountability to affected populations or Code of Conduct related matters.

  • Knowledge about own leadership skills/profile.

  • Fluency in English, both written and verbal.

What we offer:

  • Duty station: Damascus, Syria.

  • Contract: Fixed Term

  • Travel: 20-30% within areas of operation

  • Salary/benefits: Grade 9 on NRC’s national salary scale
