The WEE programe Analyst among other things, is responsible for leading the project team to ensure the smooth implementation of the activities as outlined in Project Document, aligning them with the needs of beneficiaries and the priorities set in UN Women 2026-2030 Strategic Plan. This role requires experience and a deep understanding of gender equality and women's empowerment issues in Uzbekistan, combined with project management expertise to translate UN Women's strategic objectives into effective development initiatives and tangible results. Additionally, the position, requires developing and maintaining mutually reinforcing partnerships with key Government counterparts, UN agencies, civil society organizations (CSOs), and both bilateral and non-traditional donors. These collaborations are essential for promoting inter-agency partnerships, supporting UN reform efforts, and mobilizing resources to advance gender equality and women's empowerment in Uzbekistan.
Reporting to Country Programme Manager, the Programme Analyst provides programme support to the effective management of UN Women programmes in the Uzbekistan Office by contributing in the programme design, formulation, implementation and evaluation. The Programme Analyst supports the delivery of UN Women programmes by analyzing results achieved during implementation and supporting appropriate application of systems and procedures. The Programme Analyst works in close collaboration with the programme and operations team, UN Women HQ staff, Government officials, multi and bi-lateral donors and civil society ensuring successful UN Women programme implementation under portfolio.
Key Functions and Accountabilities:
1. Contribute technically to the development of programme strategies in the area of Women’s Economic Empowerment
2. Provide technical support to the implementation and management of the women’s economic empowerment programme
3. Provide technical assistance and capacity development support to project/programme partners
4. Provide technical inputs to the monitoring and reporting of the programme/project
5. Provide technical inputs to the management of people and finances of women’s economic empowerment programme
6. Contribute to building partnerships and resource mobilization strategies
7. Provide technical inputs to inter-agency coordination on women’s economic empowerment] to achieve coherence and alignment of UN Women programmes with other partners in Uzbekistan
8. Provide inputs to advocacy, knowledge building and communication efforts
9. The incumbent performs other duties within their functional profile as deemed necessary for the efficient functioning of the Office and the Organisation.
Supervisory/Managerial Responsibilities:
Programme Analyst will lead a small team of 2-3 personnel including programme assistant and national UN Volunteer as well as 3-5 affiliate personnel (consultants). She/he will be in close collaboration with the operations team of Regional Office, the Programme Specialist of ECA Programme Specialist, technical advisors, experts, international partners and civil society organizations to ensure effective implementation of the UN Women WEE programme in Uzbekistan.
