About the Position

The Proposal Support Assistant will play an important supportive role in the identification, tracking, and assessment of funding opportunities. The position will be responsible for scanning competitive funding opportunities, managing a database of funding opportunities, and work with Business Development & Partnership (BDP) to ensuring timely communication of relevant opportunities to scientists and program leads. The position also maintains BDP databases and dashboards and prepares monthly pipeline reporting for CGIAR. The position also coordinates BDP events, travel, and proposal development activities, manages administrative and financial processes for BDP consultants, and provides ad hoc support as needed.

The successful candidate will: 

  • Conducting background research for BDP activities; build donor profiles and use these to inform donor engagement activities within WorldFish.
  • Identify and circulate competitive funding opportunities to proponents across the institution and manage process of gathering data and conducting analyses on funding opportunities.
  • Track and manage donor forecasts and use forecasts to inform donor engagement and fundraising activities.
  • Managing BDP databases and dashboards, ensuring they are kept up-to-date and accurate.
  • Develop and submit monthly unified pipeline analyses to the CGIAR unified pipeline platform.
  • Coordinate BDP events, trips, and workshops, and other proposal development meetings and travel.
  • Manage support processes for BDP consultants, including on-boarding, monthly payments, budget monitoring, reporting, and other support functions.
  • Any additional support to BDP activities, as requested.

Requirements

This job might be for you if you have the below skills and qualifications:  

  • At least a bachelor’s degree from a recognized university.
  • Strong writing and communication skills in English.
  • Ability to manage complex processes involving multiple contributors. 
  • Experience working collaboratively within a team environment. 
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. 
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and other online collaboration tools.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills. 
  • Complex data collection and analyses skills.
  • Report preparation and editing.  
  • Database development and management.
  • Relationship management and stakeholder engagement.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills, and ability to work remotely. 

 Desirable Skills/Experience: 

  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to work in the office and remotely.
  • Knowledge in aquatic food research and development.

Recruitment Process 

This is a 12-month temporary position with salary offer commensurate to the position level.
