The World Health Organization is a specialized agency of the United Nations Public Health Organization established in 1948. The objective of the World Health Organization shall be the attainment by all peoples of the highest possible level of health. World Health Organization achieves its goals by performing its essential functions: 1. Take a leadership role in key health issues and create partnerships when joint action is needed; 2. Set research priorities and encourage the acquisition, application and dissemination of useful knowledge; 3. Setting standards and criteria and encouraging and monitoring them; 4. Task Description
- Programme planning and Coordination: • Support the unit in developing and updating immunization workplans, national immunization strategies database and assist in coordinating planning sessions, workshops, stakeholder consultations, etc. - Technical assistance for implementation: • Provide technical and logistical support for training and capacity-building activities, data-driven implementation, etc. - Monitoring, reporting and evaluation: • Assist in setting up and maintain real-time dashboards and monitoring tools for vaccine introduction and coverage including introduction status across 47 countries and 19 antigens; ensure 100% uptime; • Validate and analyze country data to identify bottlenecks and propose corrective actions; • Prepare regular progress briefs, presentations and reports for stakeholders. Brazzaville is the headquarters of the WHO Regional Office for Africa and the capital of the Republic of Congo. It is a quiet city on the borders of the Congo river with a relatively low crime rate and as such is a family station. WHO staff live either in the WHO compound which is a 30 minutes’ drive from the centre of town or in the city centre.
