Job Description

We are currently recruiting a Program Lead to join our Sudan team.

This is a field-based position with frequent travel to various locations across Sudan.

The role is a 6-month fixed-term international position, starting March 1, 2026.

About the Opportunity

You will provide strategic leadership and full accountability for a fastpaced, sixmonth multistate emergency response program spanning Health, Nutrition, WASH, and Protection. Reporting directly to the country director, you will serve as the central coordination and management lead for all implementation, driving integrated planning, prioritization, and timely delivery across states. You will ensure rigorous donor compliance, proactive risk management, and strong performance oversight in line with donor requirements.

Your Responsibilities

This role includes the following responsibilities.

  • Provide overall strategic leadership and accountability for the expected 6-month multi-state response across Health, Nutrition, WASH, and Protection.
  • Serve as the primary management and coordination lead for all program implementation.
  • Oversee integrated planning and prioritization of activities across states to ensure coherent and timely delivery within compressed timelines.
  • Ensure full donor compliance, risk management, and performance oversight aligned with donor regulations.
  • Coordinate closely with country level support functions and field level program teams to address implementation bottlenecks and escalate critical issues.

About You

You will bring the following experience and skills.

  • Proven ability to provide strategic leadership for complex, multisector humanitarian responses.
  • Strong experience managing large donor funded programs
  • Strong spoken and written English and French are essential.
  • Demonstrated expertise in coordinating Health, Nutrition, WASH, and Protection interventions in emergency contexts.
  • Skilled in integrated planning, prioritization, and rapid decision-making under compressed timelines.
  • Deep understanding of donor compliance, risk management, and performance oversight requirements.
  • Excellent coordination and communication skills for working with country level support functions and field teams.
  • Track record of identifying implementation bottlenecks and driving timely, practical solutions.
  • Ability to manage high pressure environments with sound judgment, accountability, and strategic focus.
