1. Internship Topic
Prospects for offshore wind development in the developing Asia and the Pacific
2. Summary of Job Description
The intern will
- Review capacity expansion progress and plans, key policy support, technology developments, and overall industry developments (manufacturing, supply chains, infrastructure and logistics) in the offshore wind sectors of People's Republic of China, Taipe, China, Republic of Korea, and Japan.
- Assess their implications for introducing and expanding offshore wind opportunities in South Asia and Southeast Asia.
- Research and prepare analytical briefs, compare assessments, review regional and international literature, synthesize insights into actionable recommendations, and support the preparation of concept notes, slide decks, and other knowledge materials.

Duration: 11 weeks
Timing: July 2026 onward

ADB Headquarters, Manila, Philippines
5. Expected Outcomes
- The intern will prepare a technical report summarizing the key findings, analysis, and recommendations from the assignment, supported by relevant data and literature.
- The intern will create a power point presentation that highlights the main insights, objectives, and recommendation of next steps, and presents the findings in a brownbag session for ADB energy staff and for a wider audience.
Qualifications
6. Education Requirements
Currently enrolled in a master's degree program or PhD in engineering or energy economics or public policy (must have a bachelor's or master's in engineering)
7. Relevant Experience and Other Requirements
- Some professional or academic experience in wind power development, preferably on offshore wind.
- Strong analytical, research, and writing skills, with the ability to review technical and policy materials.
- Preferably with 2-3 years of relevant professional experience.
- Proficiency in oral and written communication skills in English
