Under the overall supervision of the Programme Officer in Addis Ababa in close coordination with the Head of Sub Office and direct supervision of the Senior Project Associate (Livelihood), the Project Clerk (Community workers) will be responsible for the direct implementation of the daily activities of the target outputs in terms of overseeing and monitoring the ongoing livelihood activities. S/he will be based in the assigned woreda and is responsible for the coordination of meetings and activities among the project beneficiaries, and relevant local administrative bodies as well as reporting the progress of the activities, challenges faced, and other necessary information to the livelihood project team based in Dessie. He/she will directly work on the coaching and mentoring of business groups and beneficiaries, enhance linkage with implementing partners, facilitate the provision of the necessary inputs to the beneficiaries and serves as the primary focal point for preparation of project progress reports.
Support the implementation, monitoring, and follow-up of livelihood activities at Woreda level through coaching, mentoring and routine follow-up of the established business groups and theTechnical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) trainees.
Represent, and act as a focal point for livelihood team in Wadla and Delanta Woreda pertaining to any communication, collaboration & coordination with government counterparts and concerned stakeholders.
Provide general assistance in the implementation of project activities.
Follow-up with livelihood team based in Dessie to ensure start-up capitals are provided timely, ensure spending for the intended purpose and report any misuse.
Retrieve, compile, summarize, and present information/data on specific project topics.
Share progress updates on status of the business groups with livelihood Sr. project Associate.
In collaboration and coordination with concerned sector offices, assist market linkage for individual and group business in the woreda and surrounding potential marketplaces.
Ensure synergy and proper linkage with implementing partners, specifically, with project partners in the woreda.
Support the organization of meetings, workshops and training sessions.
Respond to general information requests and inquiries; set up and maintain files/records.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
School diploma with three years of relevant experience.
Bachelor’s degree in political or social sciences, International Relations, Development Studies, Migration Studies, Human Rights, Law or related fields from an accredited academic institution with one year of relevant experience
Experience in liaising with governmental authorities, national/international institutions, United Nations agencies and non-governmental organizations.
Experience in working with migrants, refugees, internally displaced persons, victims of trafficking and other vulnerable groups; and,
Experience in implementing livelihood projects, including off farm, on farm activities, and skills training with strong familiarity in value chain development and local market systems.
Prior work experience with international humanitarian organizations, non-government or government institutions/organization in a multi-cultural setting is an advantage
