Mission and objectives

The Ministry of Social Development and Human Security (MSDHS) is a Thai government body responsible for the oversight of social development and human security, promoting justice, and ensuring equality within society. It plays a vital role in enhancing the quality of life and stability for families and communities. This ministry serves as a governmental body and social mechanism to achieve the government's policies, particularly for vulnerable groups such as children, youth, women, persons with disabilities, and the elderly. Its mission is to ensure the well-being and protection of the rights of all citizens, in accordance with the provisions of the Constitution of the Kingdom of Thailand (B.E. 2540). It strives to integrate concepts, directions, and management systems across all sectors and levels of society. Context

Under the guidance of Office of the National Commission on Social Welfare Promotion, we are seeking support from Online Volunteers to translate United Nations General Assembly Resolution A/RES/78/127, titled “International Year of Volunteers for Sustainable Development, 2026”, from English into Thai. The translated document will contribute to raising awareness and supporting national-level engagement in preparation for the International Year of Volunteers for Sustainable Development in 2026.

Task Description

The Online Volunteer will: - Accurately translate the full text of the resolution (approximately 1,500 words) from English into Thai. - Ensure the translation maintains the formal tone and structure typical of United Nations General Assembly resolutions. - Format the final translated text clearly and coherently in Thai, aligned with the structure of the original document. - Deliver the final translation in an editable Word format by the agreed deadline. If two volunteers are selected, one will focus on translation and the other on proofreading and final review to ensure quality and consistency.
