Title: Fundraising Analytics Contractor
Location: Home-based
Section/Unit: PSP/Global Analysis Team
Contract type: Individual Contractor (retainer)
Type: Project-based (part-time)
Duration: Maximum 160 working days in 2026
1. General Background
UNHCR works to protect refugees and other displaced people across the globe. The work is diverse, highly challenging and requires committed, responsive, and flexible staff with a high degree of motivation and professional skills. In a context of growing humanitarian needs and pressured public budgets, UNHCR is increasing the level of resources it raises from Individual donors, corporate partners, and foundations.
Within Private Sector and Partnership (PSP), the Global Analysis and System Team provides strategic and technical support to embed fundraising excellence in national & regional Individual Giving (IG) programmes and ensure that PSP achieves high fundraising revenue growth in the coming years at an optimal level of performance. The Analysis team exists to provide the analytical foundation for developing investment strategies. The team works with the PSP network and regional teams to support individual markets to develop mid-term, long term, sustainable strategies for individual giving and high value channels that are both donor-centered and grounded in data.
2. Purpose and scope of the assignment
The position is to help PSP in maximizing the deployment of our insights for fundraising impact for markets(NAPS and PSP branches).
The benefits will be:
• Donor-centric: deeper understanding of donors (from our D360 database)
• Insights presented to markets: areas of improvements in fundraising presented to market via flag-ship products like LTV analysis and INDIGO (Benchmarking). This will lead to offer markets actions to make fundraising changes at strategic or tactical levels.
• Higher frequency of analysis (from annual for quarterly reports): D360 data refresh is moving to quarterly so more timely analysis will be available for decisions making. This will lead to more updated data.
• Efficiencies in systems and reporting (Optimising data models): we want to focus on the most critical reports which have impact. The person will work on optimizing the number of reports and build a selection of core ones. This will lead to faster process and stop overloading the network.
• Fundraising Forecasting: we want to accelerate the adoption by markets of the forecasting tool (Crescendo). The person will need to help co-design a simplified version and run webinars to support the users (Markets). This will allow the markets to do Annual Planning with updated data and on time.
• Knowledge Academy: we want an experienced person who can transfer knowledge on analysis and systems to our UNHCR analysts (creation of an “Academy” to promote knowledge and share it across the network). This will lead in creating a place where we can retain knowledge and leverage it for fundraising.
The contractor will work 2-3 days a week and support the Global Analysis team in the following key areas:
