Organizational Setting and Reporting Relationship

The position of Associate Audit Officer is assigned within the Office of the Auditor General (OAG). You will be based at our Headquarters in Manila, Philippines.

You will report to the Assistant Auditor General and Principal Audit Officer.

Your Role

As an Associate Audit Officer, you will support in: (i) automating internal audit activities and processes to improve efficiency; (ii) performing administrative functions for the OAG systems such as TeamMate+ (TM+), the Management Action Plan (MAP) dashboard and other dashboards; (iii) effectively communicating and reporting the results of internal audit activities and key performance results to Management and the Board; and (iv) implementing and monitoring of internal audit's strategic action plans. You will also support OAG management in addressing emerging requirements and organizing the activities

You will:

  • Provide administrative support in the budget process, personnel, contract management,
  • knowledge management and office administration to OAG senior staff for the efficient and timely performance of OAG functions.
  • Promote innovation through the automation of internal audit management activities and processes to enhance efficiency as needed by OAG management.
  • Perform administrative functions for OAG systems such as TM+, MAP dashboards, project milestones dashboard.
  • Develop automated dashboards for Management/ARC/Board reporting; standardize datasets and visuals used in biannual and ad hoc reports.
  • Communicate and report the results of internal audit activities and key performance indicators to Management and the Board.
  • Ensure that all correspondence and documents issued by OAG are prepared observing ADB standards and using applicable OAG document template.
  • Support in the planning of OAG strategic planning exercise.
  • Coordinate the update and implementation of the 3-year OAG strategy and action plans.
  • Support in the maintenance of OAG's audit manual and methodology notes to ensure consistency in audit approach and procedures.
  • Support in the preparation for internal and external quality assessments.
  • Support the planning and coordination of OAG external activities such as knowledge exchange, Internal Audit week celebration, Chief of Audit Executives' meeting, Multilateral Development Bank harmonization.
  • Coordinate the maintenance and content management of OAG hubsite.
  • Help address emerging requirements and organizing related activities.
  • Perform other tasks assigned and reflected in your workplan.

Qualifications

You will need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, or related fields, preferably with advanced training.
  • At least 5 years of relevant professional experience.
  • Working knowledge of assigned area
  • Proficient in ADB standard software programs and information technologies (including TeamMate audit management software)
  • Strong planning, analytical, and digital skills
  • Experience in automation or data analytics
  • Good coordination and interpersonal skills
  • Experience working with individuals from different cultural/national backgrounds
  • Experience with the role and function of the division/office/department and a good general understanding of our purpose
  • Knowledge of procedures, formats and standards relevant in the performance of work
  • Experience exercising judgment on matters of confidentiality and those requiring urgent attention especially in the supervisor's absence
  • Experience liaising and working effectively with staff within own work location
  • Experience working collaboratively with teams as a constructive team member
  • Written and verbal proficiency in English.

Additional Information

This appointment is open to internal and external applicants.

This is a fixed-term appointment for an initial fixed period of 3 years. At the end of the initial period, this appointment may, at the option of ADB, be extended once for up to 2 years, converted to a regular appointment, or ended on its expiration date. This decision will be made in the overall interest of ADB that: (a) it will require Staff's particular blend of skills and experience in the foreseeable future; and (b) Staff's performance is satisfactory and they are suitable for further employment.
