Within its work, the UN Women Country Office Bosnia and Herzegovina regularly requires services of proofreader, translators and interpreters for English language (translating/interpreting/ proofreading services from BHS into English, from English into BHS), thematically focused mainly on the Gender Equality and the Empowerment of the Women area.
In this regard, UN Women Country Office Bosnia and Herzegovina is establishing a network of qualified national interpreters, translator and proofreader consultants with expertise translating/interpreting/ proofreading services from BHS into English, from English into BHS.
The consultants will be under the direct supervision of the designated programme and communications staff, and the overall supervision of the Programme Managment Specialist and Country Representative.
Description of Responsibilities/Scope of Work
UN Women is seeking to engage national translating/interpreting/ proofreading consultants with expertise in the following:

Consultants will be guided by a specific assignment clearly stipulating the nature and scope of work, list of deliverables, timeframe, and the outcome.
Consultant’s Workplace and Official Travel
This is a home-based consultancy and as necessary, the consultant should be able to travel within BiH with travel cost covered per UN Women applicable rules and procedures.. The consultant will be engaged under a retainer contract, which facilitates direct engagement of the consultant depending on need and availability within the contract period for a pre-agreed fee.
Duration and Remuneration: Duration of contracts can vary from one day (1) to a maximum of three (3) years. Payments will be made as specified in the actual contract upon confirmation of UN Women on delivering on the contract obligations in a satisfactory manner.
Specifications or sample material would be provided by specific project Contracting arrangements:
Entry into the expert roster system does not necessarily mean that contract with UN Women is guaranteed.
Where a request for services arises, the UN Women office shall directly contact consultants with the most appropriate experience from the roster without need for further selection process, although additional selection procedures might be applied.
A specific Terms of Reference outlining outputs for each assignment shall be provided, and a Consultant Contract will be issued to the consultant. Conditions of a particular assignment may be negotiable.
