Commercial EO System Engineer in the Invest Office of the ɸ-lab Division, Climate Action, Sustainability & Science Department, Directorate of Earth Observation Programmes (EOP).
You will work within the ɸ-lab Division and report to the Head of the Φ-lab Invest office (EOP-S8I). You will be responsible for technical, commercial, and programmatic management of co-funded activities for commercial Earth Observation (EO), in particular within the InCubed (Investing in Industrial Innovation) Earth Watch programme element. You are a technical professional with (industrial) experience in EO space systems and applications and with additional expertise in evaluating commercial, financial and investment information, typically for the purpose of supporting entrepreneurial initiatives.

A master’s in engineering, physics or data science is required, and a further education in business development/management (e.g. Master’s of Business Administration) is considered an asset.

In principle, recruitment will be within the advertised grade band (A2-A4). However, if the selected candidate has less than four years of relevant professional experience following the completion of the master’s degree, the position may be filled at A1 level.
During the recruitment process, the Agency may request applicants to undergo selection tests. Additionally, successful candidates will need to undergo basic screening before appointment, which will be conducted by an external background screening service, in compliance with the European Space Agency's security procedures.
