VSO is a not-for-profit organisation that promotes volunteering as a powerful and practical way to tackle poverty and inequality. Our purpose is to create lasting change through volunteering.
At VSO, we believe in bringing about change, not by sending aid, but by working with volunteers and partners to empower people in some of the world’s poorest and most fragile regions. We know that people in developing countries have the desire, power, courage and determination to shape their own futures.
Through our Volunteering for Development (VfD) approach, we put the most marginalised people first. Grounded in years of evidence and learning, this approach develops active citizens who drive local community-led change and deliver sustainable development goals long after a project or grant ends.
This volunteer role will provide remote support that enables VSO-affiliated Civil Society Groups (CSGs) to lead the hosting and promotion of the Data for Advocacy (D4A) Hub. The volunteer will be coordinating and fostering collaboration to increase adoption and effective use of the D4A Hub by CSGs and grassroots groups.
1. Support CSGs Leadership in hosting the D4A Hub
2. Engage with CSGs to promote wider usage of the D4A Hub
The ideal candidate will have expertise in digital applications for data collection, aggregation, analysis, and presentation. They will bring experience in applying social accountability tools and participatory methods such as intersectionality scorecards, PETS, social audits, and citizen‑data generation with the ability to adapt and tailor these tools across diverse contexts. They will demonstrate proven capacity to strengthen CSGs, embedding rights‑based and participatory accountability practices.
