How can you make a difference?

 Purpose of Activity/Assignment:

The new UNICEF strategic plan (2026-2029) articulates high level results for both learning/skilling of young people as well as their transition to livelihood opportunities. In MENA, several programmes are contributing to the achievement of these high-level results, including the EAA (Silatech) supported Green Visions and Thriving Futures, a $32 million 3-year project sub-regional project that supports Egypt, Jordan, and Lebanon that aims to reach 370,000 youth with climate actions and place nearly 200,000 youth in livelihoods in Egypt. Working at scale with private sector partners, UN partners and government counterparts, UNICEF seeks a consultant to document the strategic approach, partnership landscape analysis and implementation methodology that the Egypt CO developed to meet the employment targets for the first year of programme implementation. The documentation of the pathways is important to identify innovative and scalable approaches, highlight emerging best practices that can inform future programmes in Egypt, as well as visibility and knowledge management products that can support other partners and UNICEF Country Offices. To this end, the document will be used to support the Silatech Year 1 report, an ICON story to be developed with Generation Unlimited global team as well as a global webinar to be organized in partnership with GEN U and Silatech.

The consultant will be managed by the Senior Project Coordinator in Amman in coordination with the Egypt CO.

Therefore, UNICEF seeks to hire a consultant to work on the following deliverable:

1) Development of a Learning Package to document the employment pathways developed in the Egypt CO.

Tasks:

1) Work with ADAP Regional Office and Egypt Coutry Office to develop a 2-page learning document for external consumption;

2) Prepare an internal 5-7 page learning document for UNICEF capturing innovative approaches and best practices;

3) Prepare a short story for an ICON (UNICEF Website) story and develop a PowerPoint presentation based on the key learnings for an upcoming global webinar.
