POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT Private Sector Engagement Manager, Ashshash Project Winrock International is recruiting applicants for the position of Private Sector Engagement Manager for the ‘Ashshash – for men and women who have escaped trafficking, Phase II’ is a four-year program supported by the Embassy of Switzerland in Bangladesh and implemented by Winrock International. The objective of the project is supporting 6,000 (65% female) survivors of trafficking to reintegrate into their communities and achieve personal well-being and self-sufficiency. The project will accomplish this goal by May 31, 2027. POSITION SUMMARY POSITION TITLE: Private Sector Engagement Manager LOCATION: Dhaka, Bangladesh STATUS: Full Time REPORTS TO: Project Director POSITION SUMMARY: The Private Sector Engagement Manager (PSEM) will oversee private sector engagement in the Ashshash program. The responsibilities include developing a strategy to engage the private sector, establishing market linkages for trafficking survivors pursuing self-employment, and securing corporate social responsibility (CSR) funds for rehabilitation and reintegration efforts. The PSEM will advocate for improved access to financing for survivors through partnerships with banks and build relationships with national and international businesses. Working closely with other program components, the PSEM will implement private-sector engagement activities while ensuring compliance with organizational policies and procedures. The Private Sector Engagement Manager (PSEM) will be engaged on a six-month initially, results-oriented assignment to accelerate economic reintegration outcomes for survivors of human trafficking under the Ashshash project. The contract might be extended upon availability of funds and performance. Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to: Formulate or review private sector strategies and develop outcome-based plans that provide a clear direction for the mobilization of resources and diverse technical assistance from private sector organizations and associations. Conduct systematic mapping of potential private sector actors at both national and local levels including businesses, corporate entities and industry associations to identify collaboration opportunities that can support the economic reintegration of survivors through leveraging private sector resources, services and market opportunities to benefit survivors and achieve project goals. Build partnership with private companies, industry associations, banks, non-banking financial institutions (NBFI), micro-finance institutions (MFI) and CSR platforms to secure grants, cash, business inputs (in-kind goods, material, equipment support, etc.) Wage-based job placements, on-the-job training, and other employment-related services for the beneficiaries. Provide programmatic coordination and technical support for the implementation of all private sector engagement activities ensuring quality, timeliness, and integration with approved work plan and activity components. Identify and engage potential investors and co-investors at national and local levels including SMEs, CSR platforms, Banks, MFIs and business groups to support survivor-led MSMEs through assessing business viability, facilitating co-investment arrangements and negotiating practical risk-sharing models. Assess existing and potential economic empowerment models in the local context and design strategies to implement the same and evaluate the outcome. Provide tailored support to both individual and group-based survivor enterprises by assessing business viability and linking them with relevant private sector actors for market access, technical support and growth opportunities. Organize events, seminars, and workshops at national and local levels to sensitize private sector personnel, share knowledge and lessons learned, and mobilize resources for the economic well-being of beneficiaries. Assist the capacity development of the staff of sub-partners to ensure effective implementation of economic empowerment process of the program. Represent the Ashshash program in discussions and forums of the private sector companies and associations. Monitor and document the outcomes of the private sector engagement interventions for M&E, donor reports highlighting good practices, lessons learned, and ways forward. Support the Country program to carry out the project output with collaboration with other components. Requirements: Master's degree in any relevant Social Science or Business Administration discipline. At least 5 (five) years of professional experience. At least 3 (three) years of progressive experience of dealing with private sector organizations acquired in reputed local NGOs, INGOs, Banks, Private Sectors, and relevant organizations. Working experience in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programs or projects will be an added advantage. Outstanding knowledge of Bangladesh’s corporate world and its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). Good understanding of the functions of government and International Non-Governmental Organizations. Experience in supporting the implementation of gender and social dimension intervention and gender mainstreaming in projects is a plus. Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities under pressure.
