The purpose of the Coordinator position is to implement and oversee implementation of delegated project portfolios

Specific responsibilities
These responsibilities shall be adapted to the particularities of the job location and context, phase of operation, strategic focus and type of programme intervention. This section shall be revised whenever a new employee is hired or the context changes significantly.
Support WASH PM in developing detailed implementation plans, BoQs, procurement plans, and activity schedules for all WASH interventions in South Darfur.
Lead day-to-day field implementation of WASH activities (water supply, sanitation, hygiene promotion, cholera preparedness and solid waste management).
Represent NRC WASH in field-level coordination forums, including WASH Cluster meetings, Locality coordination, HAC, Water Corporation, and MoH where required.
Coordinate internally with other NRC sectors (Shelter, Education, Protection, ICLA) to support integrated programming.
Support local implementing partners in planning, monitoring, reporting, and technical supervision and facilitate joint assessments and joint supervisory missions with partners.
Ensure accurate and timely weekly, monthly, and donor reports from the field teams and partners and in support to conduct PDMs, KAP surveys, and MEAL assessments in coordination with MEAL teams.
Support procurement processes: preparing PRs, validating technical specifications as delegated by the PM, and participating in bid analyses.
Ensure safe construction practices, safe chemical handling (chlorine), and protective equipment use.
Ensure meaningful community participation in planning, implementation, and monitoring and strengthen accountability mechanisms (hotline, feedback boxes, FGDs, community committees).
Provide technical oversight to the WASH technical officers, WASH assistants, hygiene teams, and community volunteers.
Performs any other duties as requested by the WASH Project Manager.
Professional competencies
These are skills, knowledge and experience that are important for effective performance.
Generic professional competencies for this position:
Minimum 5 years’ experience from working with wash projects in a humanitarian/recovery context. Experience from working with social work and/or with distribution of humanitarian assistance is an advantage.
Previous 2 years’ work experience in community based water, Sanitation programs; Work experience with an NGO is desirable
Must have knowledge of emergency Water supply, Hygiene, Sanitation requirements and protocols
Familiarity with international minimum standards of water Hygiene and Sanitation service delivery (i.e., SPHERE) is an advantage
Should have previous experience in training and Training of Trainers.
Excellent communication skills - written and spoken - in English required.
Must be willing to work as a team member, take direction, and share technical skills with colleagues and counterparts
Computer literacy in word processing and spreadsheets is required,
Familiarity with AutoCAD, GPS, Arc Gis and Google Earth is strongly desirable
Must be able to work under pressure
