The purpose of this assignment is to support the Unit in sourcing quality results, data, and evidence, to demonstrate UNICEF’s impact to partners and help develop effective messages for protecting and growing public and private sector funding. The consultant will scan across wide range of programmatic areas and geographies to meet partner interests and priorities and leverage UNICEF’s systems or apply targeted outreach strategies to UNICEF offices to access relevant information.

Scope of Work:
This consultancy reports to the Programme Manager (Flexible Funding) and works in close collaboration with colleagues across PPD, PFP, PG, regional, and country offices.
The consultant will:
Contribute to flagship reports for flexible funding (Core Resources Annual Report and Thematic Spotlights) within BRIDGE through the planning, development and dissemination phases. This includes sourcing quality results which are compelling and align with UNICEF’s investment and advocacy narratives to partners. It also includes validating the results in final products and dissemination messages for accuracy.
Contribute to public and private sector partners impact narratives within BRIDGE carrying out partner profile analysis and compiling the results and financial information related to partners’ UNICEF portfolios (Core Resources, Thematic, Earmarked). This includes analyzing partners’ unique interests and policy priorities and scanning UNICEF’s donor reporting portal, financial systems, and other data sources, to identify the most relevant results and financial information to convey joint impact.
Contribute to other assets (investment cases, transparency products) within BRIDGE supporting the sourcing of programmatic and financial data from the global, regional and country levels.
Support the development of a suite of results summaries to demonstrate UNICEF’s programme impact to public and private sector donors.
Support the updating of the reporting package (guidance, templates) on thematic funding for UNICEF regional and country offices across development and humanitarian pools
Support capacity building on results-based reporting for thematic funding for UNICEF regional and country offices ensuring staff have the right skillset and support to communicate impact to donors.

Payment will be made on submission of an invoice and satisfactory completion of the above-mentioned deliverables. UNICF reserves the right to withhold all or a portion of payment if performance is unsatisfactory, if deliverables/outputs are incomplete, not delivered or for failure to meet deadlines. All materials developed will remain the copyright of UNICEF and UNICEF will be free to adapt and modify them in the future.

Educational Background:
An advanced university degree in one of the following fields is required: international relations and development, social sciences, or a related technical field. Alternatively, a first-level university degree in combination with two years of additional work experience may be accepted in lieu of an advanced university degree.
Experience:
A minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible and relevant professional experience in international development and experience in results-based management and reporting is required.
Strong exposure to public and private sector partnerships is required.
Hands-on experience in preparing donor reports is required.
Familiarity with UN/UNICEF systems for results-based management and reporting is required.
Experience in delivering training sessions to technical audiences is required.
Skills:
Strong planning, writing, analytical, strategic thinking, and creative thinking skills, is required.
Strong communication skills, including engaging and informative formal public speaking, is required.
Proven ability to work effectively in cross-cultural and cross-sectoral contexts, building trust and credibility with senior stakeholders, is an asset.
Fluency in English is required; knowledge of another UN language is an ass

Remarks:
Please indicate your all-inclusive (lump sum) fees in USD against the deliverables listed above, including all associated administrative and travel costs (if applicable), in the cover letter. The office selects the individual based on best value for money.
Payment of professional fees will be based on submission of agreed deliverables. UNICEF reserves the right to withhold payment in case the deliverables submitted are not up to the required standard or in case of delays in submitting the deliverables on the part of the consultant.

Individuals engaged under a consultancy or individual contract will not be considered “staff members” under the Staff Regulations and Rules of the United Nations and UNICEF’s policies and procedures and will not be entitled to benefits provided therein (such as leave entitlements and medical insurance coverage). Their conditions of service will be governed by their contract and the General Conditions of Contracts for the Services of Consultants and Individual Contractors. Consultants and individual contractors are responsible for determining their tax liabilities and for the payment of any taxes and/or duties, in accordance with local or other applicable laws.
The selected candidate is solely responsible to ensure that the visa (applicable) and health insurance required to perform the duties of the contract are valid for the entire period of the contract. Selected candidates are subject to confirmation of fully-vaccinated status against SARS-CoV-2 (Covid-19) with a World Health Organization (WHO)-endorsed vaccine, which must be met prior to taking up the assignment. It does not apply to consultants who will work remotely and are not expected to work on or visit UNICEF premises, programme delivery locations or directly interact with communities UNICEF works with, nor to travel to perform functions for UNICEF for the duration of their consultancy contracts.
