Kickstart your career. Change the world.

At Save the Children Australia, we’re not just another workplace - we’re a movement. We’re fearless, big-hearted, and locked-in on creating lasting change for kids and communities who need it most.

Now we’re looking for a uni grad (or soon-to-be) who’s ready to dive into the world of People & Culture in this full time, 12 month paid internship opportunity. If you’re curious, detail-obsessed, and want to flex your admin + data skills while making a real impact, this gig is for you.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Manage the onboarding process for new starters, including processing compliance checks and generating contracts.
  • Overlook compliance for existing employees and ensure employee files are up to date and audit-ready.
  • Pull reports, keep our people systems squeaky clean, and help managers understand workforce trends.
  • Attend team meetings, share ideas, contribute to continuous improvement activities.
  • General administration, from invoices to audits, you’ll keep the People Operations engine running smoothly.

Why this role matters

Whether you’re crunching data or making sure the onboarding and compliance flow stays on point, you are part of something bigger - protecting kids, empowering communities, and shaping a brighter future.

You will need:

  • A degree in HR, Commerce, or Business (or you’re wrapping one up).
  • Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, Outlook - you know the drill).
  • Future-ready communication skills - written & verbal.
  • Time management superpowers and the ability to juggle deadlines.
  • Attention to detail that makes data spreadsheets & Power BI dashboards sparkle.

Perks & Culture:

Join a People & Culture team that’s all about collaboration, creativity, and courage, as you see firsthand what it means to thrive.

You will also be able to:

  • Stretch yourself with extra projects that connect you to the bigger mission.
  • Build your career with personalised learning plans and internal growth opportunities.
  • Prioritise your wellbeing with free, confidential support and extra leave to recharge.
  • Bring your whole self to work in an inclusive, diverse culture—plus enjoy salary packaging perks (please use this link to see how much this benefit could mean to you)
