Under the overall supervision of the Director of IDD and the direct supervision of the Chief of IDS, the consultant will deliver the following tasks: a) Timely support (substantive and logistical) to the project officer in planning, implementing and reporting the activities of the KOICA-ESCAP Joint Capacity Building Training Programme on Digital Technologies for Addressing Climate Change Impact in the Pacific. b) Timely support (substantive and logistical) to project officer on the implementation of the activities of the Asia-Pacific Information Superhighway initiative.

Duties and Responsibilities
ESCAP resolution 80/1 in May 2024 requested the secretariat to facilitate regional cooperation, through initiative such as the Asia-Pacific Information Superhighway initiative, among members and associate members with a view to fostering digital innovation for sustainable development. In particular, to provide technical assistance, policy analysis and capacity-building support on leveraging emerging digital opportunities for sustainable development. In response, the ESCAP secretariat plans to hire an individual contractor to support the implementation of the KOICA-ESCAP Joint Capacity Building Training Programme on Digital Technologies for Addressing Climate Change Impact in the Pacific, in support of the Asia-Pacific Information Superhighway initiative. The objectives of the individual contractor are to support the project officer on coordination of project’s activities including follow ups, including activities contributing to the implementation of the Asia-Pacific Information Superhighway initiative.
Qualifications/special skills
Degree related to digital technologies, ICT/Telecommunications, or a related field. Good writing skills, and proven professional experiences in research, project coordination in ICT, economic development, or related fields.
Languages
Good command of spoken and written English.
