Mission and objectives
The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is the UN’s global development network, working in 177 countries and territories. In line with its 2021-2025 Country Programme, UNDP in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BIH) focuses on sustainable and inclusive growth, people-centred governance and social cohesion. UNDP is fully committed to support BIH with regards to its Agenda 2030 commitments as well as the European Union (EU) accession process. The CPD outcomes correspond to 3 outcomes of the UNSDCF 2021-2025 (outcome 1 on resilient, sustainable and inclusive growth, outcome 4 on accountable and transparent governance systems, and outcome 5 on social cohesion and trust). This United Nations Volunteer (UNV) assignment is a part of UNDP SDG2BIH Programme and its flagship programming initiative, SDG Business Pioneers Award. The SDG2BiH Programme supports authorities in implementing the SDG Framework to promote sustainable and inclusive growth. It seeks to strengthen public sector planning and budgeting processes for SDG-aligned policies while actively engaging the private sector to ensure their meaningful contribution to sustainable development efforts. Funded by the Government of Sweden, the Programme is implemented by UNDP to accelerate the achievement of SDGs through inclusive and green growth in BiH.Task Description
Under direct supervision of Private Sector Engagement Associate, the United Nations Volunteer will: - establish direct communication with private companies, potential applicants for the Award for SDG Business Pioneers (SDG BPA 2025) in Bosnia and Herzegovina by phone or email - Support at least 400 sustainable companies in applying for SDG BPA 2025 (providing guidance and support in application process) - Maintain records of all contacts, feedbacks related to the SDG BPA and stages of application - Complete any other related tasks as may be required or assigned by the supervisorCompetencies and values

As this is a national UN Volunteer assignment, the UN Volunteer will be responsible for arranging his/her own housing and other living essentials. UN Volunteer entitlements and allowances: The purpose of the allowances and entitlements paid to UN Volunteers is to enable UN Volunteers to sustain a secure standard of living at the duty stations in line with United Nations standards without incurring personal costs. The allowances are in no way to be understood as compensation, reward, or salary in exchange for the UN Volunteer’s service.
