Role Overview Summary

To provide and support with peer-to-peer technical support and mentorship to fellow volunteers engaged in organizational development, social accountability, Policy Advocacy and monitoring & evaluation (M&E) in Zimbabwe and backstop the volunteers in Eswatini and Zambia. The Accompanier will fosters capacity-building, promotes reflective practice, and strengthens the quality and impact of volunteer-led initiatives and also strengthen their organisational and technical capacity to become resilient, self-sustaining, and well-equipped to organise for acting on their development priorities including equitable access to quality public services for [Green Economy Growth, Health and Climate Resilience work] and be capable of holding systems accountable through volunteering for development.

As part of a global volunteer network, the volunteer will work alongside CSGs, VSO team and partners to foster knowledge sharing and drive locally led development and system change. This role is critical in building trust and co-facilitating holistic capacity strengthening with CSGs using volunteer relational model, co-creating and accompaniment approach.

Additional Information

Allowance and accommodation

All volunteers have an allowance paid in local currency. The allowance meets reasonable living expenses in country, but will not be enough to send money home.

VSO works with some of the poorest communities in the world which means accommodation varies and will be basic.

Contract duration: Please note the duration for this contract ends 31March 2026 but may be renewed based on the confirmation of the funds.
