PURPOSE OF ASSIGNMENT:
UNICEF’s Private Fundraising and Partnerships (PFP) Division works to deliver income, influence, and brand recognition for UNICEF globally. Within the PFP Division, the Individual Giving (IG) team strategically guides and supports fundraising markets in implementing global, regional, and market-level strategies. Our 2022-25 Individual Giving strategy aims to drive significant transformation in our business model, emphasizing audience-centricity, digital acceleration, and a shift toward a marketing-oriented approach.
Over the next year, the IG Team has set ambitious income targets, focusing on digital channels to reach audiences worldwide through relevant, creative campaigns and offers. To achieve these goals, the IG unit within PFP, Geneva, is seeking a Digital Content Specialist to support fundraising offices, particularly in Latin America, with planning, developing, and measuring impactful digital campaigns, propositions, and fundraising products.
This role involves providing creative leadership in the digital space, developing audience-centric content packages with agencies, delivering bootcamps for capacity-building workshops and webinars, and offering direct support to fundraising offices.
In close collaboration with other members of the IG team, Regional Support Centre teams, and key internal stakeholders, and informed by clear audience and data insights, the Digital Content Specialist will identify and deliver key fundraising content opportunities by leading, supporting, and facilitating digital content capacity. The role includes providing strategic advice, creative guidance, and developing innovative fundraising propositions and assets.
The incumbent will serve as a strategic digital content specialist and catalyst for change, helping fundraising offices adopt audience-and data-driven content strategies. Working closely with UNICEF regional colleagues in Panama (LACRO), the role will directly support our UNICEF Latin American offices as well as select global projects.

SCOPE OF WORK:
Under the guidance of the Fundraising Manager (Fundraising & Marketing Services-FMS), the consultant will:
1. Serve as the Digital Content Specialist for LACRO, supporting LAC markets.
2. Create a strong pipeline of digital content for acquisition and donor journeys for the region.
3. Collaborate with external creative agencies to produce fundraising content for digital paid media campaigns.
4. Plan and deliver capacity-building activities to strengthen digital skills in markets.
5. Coordinate with Country Office (CO) teams to align organic and paid content strategies.
6. Regularly source footage, images, and stories for internal content libraries (e.g., WeShare) for campaign creatives.
7. Brief Country Offices to generate relevant field content aligned with campaign needs.
8. Provide creative leadership during emergencies.
9. Follow IG Agile ways of working to develop and deliver effective solutions.

The consultant will submit monthly deliverables throughout the contract period and payments will be processed at the end of each month, upon acceptance of deliverables by the supervisor.

Please indicate your all-inclusive (lump sum) fees against the deliverables listed above, including all associated administrative and travel costs (if applicable), in the cover letter. The office selects the individual based on best value for money.
Payment of professional fees will be based on submission of agreed deliverables. UNICEF reserves the right to withhold payment in case the deliverables submitted are not up to the required standard or in case of delays in submitting the deliverables on the part of the consultant.

Individuals engaged under a consultancy or individual contract will not be considered “staff members” under the Staff Regulations and Rules of the United Nations and UNICEF’s policies and procedures, and will not be entitled to benefits provided therein (such as leave entitlements and medical insurance coverage). Their conditions of service will be governed by their contract and the General Conditions of Contracts for the Services of Consultants and Individual Contractors. Consultants and individual contractors are responsible for determining their tax liabilities and for the payment of any taxes and/or duties, in accordance with local or other applicable laws.
The selected candidate is solely responsible to ensure that the visa (applicable) and health insurance required to perform the duties of the contract are valid for the entire period of the contract. Selected candidates are subject to confirmation of fully-vaccinated status against SARS-CoV-2 (Covid-19) with a World Health Organization (WHO)-endorsed vaccine, which must be met prior to taking up the assignment. It does not apply to consultants who will work remotely and are not expected to work on or visit UNICEF premises, programme delivery locations or directly interact with communities UNICEF works with, nor to travel to perform functions for UNICEF for the duration of their consultancy contracts.
