Through our Volunteering for Development (VfD) approach, we put the most marginalised people first. Grounded in years of evidence and learning, this approach develops active citizens who drive local community-led change and deliver sustainable development goals long after a project or grant ends.
The position aims to strengthen the capacity of six Civil Society Groups (CSGs), including youth networks and youth-led organizations, to enhance climate resilience and local adaptation for service continuity. It focuses on integrating climate adaptation planning into system-strengthening initiatives by collaborating with CSGs and local government bodies. The role involves building technical and organizational capacity to design and implement locally led adaptation strategies, embed crisis modifiers, and engage effectively with duty bearers. Additionally, it supports the expansion of climate networks to ensure community-led solutions shape inclusive policies and actions. As part of VSO’s global volunteer network, the role provides tailored technical support, coaching, and mentoring—both in person and remotely—working closely with local volunteers, the VSO team, and partners to address each CSG’s unique context and priorities.
