Title of Assignment: Consultant (Project Assistant) – Youth (K–12) Project

Expected duration of assignment: 10 months, preferably from 20 October 2025 to 20 August 2026, with the possibility of extension up to 1 year.
1. Objective of the assignment
The WIPO Academy IP eLearning section (DL) offers eLearning and blended learning courses on Intellectual Property (IP), catering to different target audiences: inventors and creators, business managers and IP professionals, policy makers and government officials of IP institutions, scientists, diplomats, students and teachers of IP and the civil society.
The purpose of this assignment is to engage a Contractor to support the implementation of the IP4Youth&Teachers program activities. The Contractor will contribute to key program activities, including the WIPO Academy - Development Agenda Projects on “Empowering Youth (K-12) to Innovate for a Better Future” (“the K-12 project)” and on “Enhancing IP Education Capacities of Artistic and Creative Academic Institutions to Foster Creativity”. Through their expertise, the Contractor will help strengthen the capacities of educators and youth in integrating intellectual property education into their education system, in line with WIPO Academy’s broader mission to empower the next generation of creators and innovators.
2. Deliverables/services
The Contractor shall deliver the following tasks and related outputs within the duration of this assignment:
(a) Provide support in the planni, coordination, and monitoring of activities under the K-12 project and associated IP4Youth&Teachers activities.
(b) Support the preparation of project documents, progress reports, meeting notes, and presentations.
(c) Support stakeholder engagement and coordination across internal teams and external partners to facilitate effective implementation, risk mitigation, and continuous improvement of program activities.
(d) Support the development of educational programs/toolkit for the use of local partners in beneficiary countries of the WIPO Academy-Development Agenda Project on “Empowering Youth (K-12) to Innovate for a Better Future”.
(e) Communicate effectively and follow up with subject matter experts, working on the research and the development of best practices for curriculum design, training, and education on creative arts and entrepreneurship in post-secondary institutions in the respective countries of the WIPO Academy-Development Agenda Project on “Enhancing IP Education Capacities of Artistic and Creative Academic Institutions to Foster Creativity”.
(f) Provide guidance to established online networks with regular updates, maintaining relationships with focal points.
(g) Submit regular progress reports on the activities undertaken, outlining project success and challenges.
(h) Support the implementation of the Program level planning,, including communications, marketing, resource management, and outreach strategies ensuring that deliverables align with strategic objectives.
3. Reporting
The Contractor will be under the supervision of the Director of the IP eLearning and Internal Training Program. In addition, the Contractor will work closely with the Project Team, who will provide the necessary support, as required.
4. Profile
Education (Essential)
University degree in a relevant field (Education, STEM, intellectual property, development, innovation, entrepreneurship, business, or a related field)
Education (Desirable)
Master’s degree in the above-mentioned fields is desirable.
Experience (Essential)
Proven experience in project management, coordination, and communication skills.
At least two (2) years of relevant experience in an area linked to innovation, and education program development and coordination.
Experience (Desirable)
Demonstrated experience in written and oral communication as well as presentations.
Experience in supporting documentation and use of project management and meeting tools.
Experience in working in a multicultural environment.
Languages (Essential)
Excellent (written and spoken) knowledge of English.
Languages (Desirable)
Working knowledge of another UN language, preferably Arabic or Spanish

5. Duration of contract and payment
The duration of the contract is 10 months, for a maximum of 120 working days over this period, preferably from 20 October 2025 to 20 August 2026, with the possibility of extension up to 1 year.
Payment will be made on a monthly basis, upon submission of a report summarizing the tasks performed, submission of the Contractor’s invoice, and satisfactory completion of the services and deliverables.
Applicants are requested to provide an indication of their remuneration expectations in Swiss francs (daily rate).
6. Other information
ICS contractors fall outside the coverage of employment contracts for WIPO Staff members and are not subject to the WIPO Staff Regulations and Rules. The contractor has no entitlement to vacation or sick leave, except for WIPO official holidays, or to medical insurance or staff pension. Absences from work will be deducted from the contractor’s payment on a pro-rated basis.
