Job Description

Come join our Pacific team and use your technical expertise to drive sustainable livelihoods, youth entrepreneurship, and climate-smart economic empowerment across Pacific communities — building resilience, fostering innovation, and creating inclusive opportunities for future generations!

A place to make a difference:

Reporting to the Pacific Regional PDQ Director, you will be part of the Pacific PDQ team, and be responsible for providing technical advice and strategic guidance for the design and delivery of innovative, evidence-based livelihoods and economic empowerment programs. You will lead on strengthening youth and women’s entrepreneurship, advancing climate-smart and renewable energy solutions, and ensuring programs are inclusive, sustainable, and scalable across Pacific communities. In this role, you will support country teams, cultivate strategic partnerships, and position the organization as a regional leader in driving equitable economic resilience and opportunity.

This is a full-time, permanent position and to apply for the role, you must have working rights in the Pacific region, Australia or New Zealand.

You will make an impact by:

· Driving innovation in sustainable livelihoods, youth entrepreneurship, and climate-smart economic empowerment across Pacific communities.

· Providing technical leadership that ensures programs are evidence-based, inclusive, and designed for scale and sustainability.

· Strengthening program quality by equipping country teams with tools, capacity, and guidance to deliver high-impact, resilient livelihood solutions.

· Positioning the organization as a trusted leader in livelihoods, renewable energy, and entrepreneurship through strong partnerships with donors, governments, and regional institutions.

· Championing gender, disability, and social inclusion in all program approaches, ensuring equitable opportunities for youth, women, and marginalized groups.

· Supporting learning, research, and knowledge-sharing to inform innovation and drive continuous improvement across the Pacific region.

A place to feel valued:

You are currently a Pacific, Australian or New Zealand national. You have deep experience in livelihoods, youth entrepreneurship, and climate-smart economic development in Pacific contexts. You excel at building high-impact programs and forging partnerships—including with the private sector—to drive innovation and scale. You are known for your ability to provide strategic advice, lead diverse teams, and create inclusive opportunities. You are committed to advancing gender, disability, and social inclusion, and making a real difference for youth and families across the Pacific.

This role requires:

· At least 7 years of experience designing, leading, and delivering high-quality development programs focused on livelihoods, youth entrepreneurship, and climate, environmental solutions within Pacific contexts.

· Strong analytical skills with the ability to synthesize quantitative and qualitative data for evidence-based decision making in livelihoods, entrepreneurship ecosystems, and green economic inclusion.

· Advanced knowledge of complementary livelihood approaches relevant to the Pacific, including entrepreneurship development, market-based solutions, agriculture, food security, and renewable energy-linked economic opportunities.

· Proven track record in successfully developing funding proposals and tenders focused on sustainable livelihoods, youth enterprise, and renewable energy projects, with demonstrated program design and implementation experience in the Pacific.

· Experience integrating entrepreneurship pathways and renewable energy options into development programs, strategies, and policies that promote economic inclusion and climate resilience.

· Demonstrated ability to build capacity of non-technical program staff and partners in evidence-based approaches to livelihoods, youth entrepreneurship, and renewable energy programming tailored to Pacific settings.

A place to belong:
