Organizational Setting and Reporting Relationship
The position of Senior Investment Officer is assigned in the Infrastructure Finance Division 1 (PSIF1) within the Private Sector Operations Department (PSOD). You will be based at our Resident Mission Office in Georgia (GRM).
You will report to the Director, PSIF1 and designated International Staff with secondary reporting arrangements to the Country Director of GRM on administrative matters, and may oversee administrative staff.
Your Role
As a Senior Investment Officer, you will provide technical support and coordination in the processing of ADB's private sector investments and technical assistance and participate and contribute in the identification, development, approval and implementation private sector infrastructure financing projects.
You will:
a. Project Processing
- Participate and contribute in identifying, developing, and processing projects, and lead the necessary due diligence, financial and risk analysis, and mitigation efforts to structure loans, bonds, equity investments, guarantees, or other forms of assistance.
- Apply proper risk management in projects.
- Contribute to credit and financial due diligence by developing financial models and assessing risk and credit profile of infrastructure investments.
- Review and analyze financial statements and financial projections/models, perform sensitivity analysis and stress testing and make necessary recommendations.
- Participate in due diligence missions and provide technical support and recommendations to Team Leaders.
- Conduct relevant industry and country research as a part of transaction risk assessment and make recommendations to project team leaders.
- Prepare initial and final Concept Review Forms, summaries of project documents, risk assessment analyses and other required document throughout the project processing cycle.
- Engage with the Risk Management Specialists and Safeguard Specialists to address credit and safeguards-related issues.
- Prepare presentation materials.
- Oversee the documentation and maintenance of comprehensive credit files related to transactions under processing.
b. Strategy and Planning
- Contribute to the development of policy and strategies for ADB's developmental goals for the private sector in consultation with relevant stakeholders.
- Help develop a pipeline of private sector infrastructure projects.
c. Others
- Perform other tasks as assigned and reflected in the workplan
Qualifications
You will need:
- Bachelor's degree in business administration or finance; preferably or a Master's degree or equivalent
- At least 10 years of relevant experience, preferably in project finance or corporate finance, and at least 5 years of supervisory experience.
- Experience in conducting research and analysis on challenging yet well-defined tasks, collecting and organizing data, using computer skills for data organization and analysis, and preparing notes, papers, and report sections.
- Analytical skills to comprehend causal links, conduct pros and cons analysis, and evaluate factors to reach well-informed decisions.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, with effective report-writing ability in both English and Russian.
- Ability to guide administrative staff to facilitate work planning, delivery and quality review
- Ability to work collaboratively with teams as a constructive team member.
