The Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Education for Peace and Sustainable Development (MGIEP) is UNESCO’s first category 1 institute in the Asia and the Pacific region focusing on achieving the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4.7 towards education to foster peaceful and sustainable societies. The Institute is a leader in the conceptualization, design, and implementation of global and regional research projects and educational programs designed to inform policy, raise awareness, and foster the development of knowledge and skills of critical importance for the promotion of peace and sustainable development.
Toward achieving its mandate, MGIEP is systematically evaluating the effectiveness and impact of all of its projects and programs. With this objective, it is now conducting, or planning to conduct, a large number of empirical evaluation studies aimed at assessing the effectiveness of its online courses and in-person workshops. In particular, the MGIEP conducts pre- and post-program assessments of learning outcomes, longer-term follow-up surveys, pre- and post-program classroom observational studies, and experimental studies. aimed at rigorously evaluating the effectiveness of the programs and providing insights for their continuous improvement.
For this purpose, MGIEP seeks to recruit a National Project Officer (Research) to contribute to this line of empirical evaluation of the Institute’s research programs using state-of-the-art scientific designs, instruments, and analytic techniques to provide valid, reliable, and actionable insights.
Under the direct supervision of the Research Officer and overall guidance of the Director of the Institute, the incumbent will serve as the National Project Officer (Research) and will carry out the following tasks and responsibilities:

UNESCO’s salaries consist of a basic salary and other benefits which may include if applicable: 30 days annual leave, family allowance, medical insurance, pension plan etc.
The approximate annual starting salary for this post is INR 4,091,427.
