Job summary:
The Financial Business Systems Analyst III is responsible for the design of financial business processes. This position will focus on the design, configuration and implementation of financial systems. The main activities include requirements gathering, data analysis, testing, data migration, and system troubleshooting. This position requires the ability to analyze large amounts of data using complex Excel functionality.
Accountabilities:
Interview stakeholders and end users to gather business requirements for new financial systems or enhancements to existing financial systems.
Performs analysis of existing systems and processes and work with system developers and designers to identify, diagnose, and document problems and/or errors.
Create and maintain systems documentation including business requirements, functional designs, business cases, user manuals, test plans, test cases and training materials.
Coordinate modifications, testing, implementation and maintenance of the automated financial management systems.
Analyze, troubleshoot and provide recommendations to software system and business process related issues.
Create and manage large data mappings files in Excel.
Write SQL queries to extract data from databases.
Train finance staff in proper utilization of the automated financial management system.
Provide ad hoc support to the financial management system team.
Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
High proficiency in Microsoft Excel; significant experience building complex financial models in Excel. Ability to draw and manipulate data from multiple sources.
Understanding of corporate finance and accounting principles and processes.
Works on problems of diverse scope that require analysis and review of identifiable factors.
Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine methods and techniques to obtain results.
Decisions may affect the management and operations of an area within a department.
Work is reviewed upon completion for accuracy and adequacy in meeting objectives.
Provides suggestions on business and operational decisions that affect the department.
Builds relationships among functional areas and teams to resolve issues and initiate enhancements.
Typically reports to a manager or Associate Director.
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree or international equivalent in Accounting, Business Administration, Computer Science, Information technology or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience:
8+ years of experience in Finance, Accounting or Information Technology.
Minimum of 5-7 years of experience with financial data analysis and manipulation.
Hands-on experience and knowledge of Deltek Costpoint and/or Microsoft Dynamics strongly preferred.
Hands on experience writing SQL scripts and queries.
Superior Excel and analytical experience.
Understanding of relational databases.
Accuracy, thoroughness and attention to detail.
Typical office environment.
Ability to spend long hours looking at computer screen and doing repetitive work on a keyboard.
Ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time.
Ability to lift/move up to 5 lbs.
Laptop, Microsoft applications (i.e., Office 365, SharePoint, Skype/Zoom/Teams), cell phone/mobile technology, and standard office equipment.

The expected US Based hiring salary range for this role is listed below. Candidate FHI 360 pay ranges represent national averages that vary by geographic location. When determining an offer amount, FHI 360 factors in multiple considerations, including but not limited to: relevant years of experience and education possessed by the applicant, internal equity, business sector, and budget.
Base salary is only one component of our offer. FHI 360 contributes 12% of monthly base pay to a money purchase pension plan account. Additionally, all US based staff working full-time, which is calculated at 40 hours/week, receive 18 days of paid vacation per year, 12 sick days per year, and 11 holidays per year. Paid time off is reduced pro rata for employees working less than a full-time schedule.
US Based Hiring Salary Range: $100,000 - $126,000
International hiring ranges will differ based on location.
