Health Systems and Population Studies Division focuses on studies to Advancing Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (AdSEARCH) project aims to improve sexual and reproductive health (SRH) outcomes and realize rights among different population groups with distinct SRH needs in Bangladesh. This research project will evaluate different screening methods for cervical cancer in public healthcare facilities among women who undergo screening for cervical cancer. The project will focus on generating new evidence related to reproductive cancers.

Position Description:
The Study Nurse will report to the Research Investigator and will be responsible for receiving, registering, examining samples/Collecting data from study participants with the objective of providing nursing care and supporting research studies within the guidelines of project protocol and organizational values and guidelines. S/he will be involved in -

• Perform various nursing or medical procedures and sample collection: VIA test,
• Screen and work with physicians during enrollment of study participants following the inclusion and exclusion criteria of the protocol;
• Monitor study participants with follow-up of the patients
• Maintain records of all research-related data in the appropriate form;
• Coordinate with Physicians/Investigators in research-related activities, including sample collection and sending out for laboratory tests;
• Maintain log book of study subjects, and samples & maintain proper chart;
• Supervise skilled worker's activities and collaborate well with the Research Investigator
• Ensure infection control practice and the security of the ward/unit comply with Health & Safety measures;
• Ensure patient record confidentiality, and practice best Nursing Ethics and Code of Conduct.

Required qualifications and experience:

• Diploma in Nursing Science and Midwifery/BSc in Nursing with valid registration from the Bangladesh Nursing and Midwifery Council (BNMC)
• Practical working experience in the Gynae-Obs Department and related fields.
• Preference will be given who have experience in working with cervical cancer screening programs.

Location: Field site, Government hospitals in Mymensingh Division.

Contract Type and Duration:

• Short Term Contractual Service Agreement basis; duration will be 4 months with a possibility of extension subject to availability of funds and performance.

Salary & benefits:

• Tk. 34,180/-(consolidated) per month inclusive of house rent and conveyance allowances.
• Festival bonus, income tax paid by icddr,b and subsidized canteen. Transport and daycare facilities are subject to space availability.
