The Policy, Programme and Intergovernmental Division (PPID) is responsible for providing the vision and strategic direction on UN Women’s programmes and policy initiatives globally and integrated support to regional and country offices. UN Women’s engagement with International Geneva reflects the deep partnership between the UN System and Switzerland, and an evolving ecology of international assistance and development. UN Women, as the recognized leader within the UN System for gender equality and the empowerment of women and girls, partners with Geneva-based UN Agencies and Organizations to leverage UN-System wide resources and capabilities. UN Women Geneva presence is focused on invigorating its role in this vibrant network and contributing essential knowledge and influence to catalyze progress in line with international commitments and agreed-upon standards for gender equality and the empowerment of women and girls across the fields of humanitarian action, human rights, disaster risk reduction, economic empowerment, as well as peace and security. Under the overall supervision of the Operations manager UN Women Geneva office, the Programme Associate ensures execution of transparent and efficient administrative services and processes consistent with UN Women rules and regulations. The Programme Associate promotes a client-focused, quality and results- oriented approach and support to ensure: (i) compliance with UN Women policies and regulations; (ii) effective systems to support programme delivery and growth; (iii) accountability to organizational values and principles; and (iv) an enabling workplace environment in which staff potential is maximized. The Programme Associate also works in collaboration with operations staff in other UN Agencies, UN Women Regional Office (RO) and HQ staff and Government officials to successfully deliver procurement services.

Education and Certification:
• Completion of secondary education is required.
• A Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Business Administration or related field is an asset.
Experience
• At least 6 years of progressively responsible experience in administration or related at the national or international level is required.
• Experience in the usage of computers and office software packages (MS Word, Excel, etc.) is required;
• Experience in the use of a modern web-based ERP System, preferably Oracle Cloud, is desirable.
• Knowledge of programme management is desirable.
Language:
• Fluency in English is required.
• Knowledge of another official UN language is desirable (French, Arabic, Chinese, Russian or Spanish).
