Job Description

This opportunity is open to WHO staff members who hold continuing and fixed-term appointments in all staff categories, and who have served at least two years in their current position, as specified in the Policy on STDAs.

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES

The main responsibilities related to the development assignment are as follows:

 

  • Manage statistical data on vaccine preventable diseases through collection, collation and support for data management on AFP and VPDs in SEAR countries
  • Compile, manage and analyze weekly VPD and laboratory updates for IVD/VPD Bulletin and oversee the publication and dissemination of the weekly and monthly bulletins for AFP and VPDs
  • Compile, manage, analyze data from the annual WHO/UNICEF Joint Reporting Form (JRF) and IVD Annual EPI Reporting Form (AERF)
  • Compile, manage and analyze supplementary immunization activity (SIA) data
  • Coordinating data disseminating activities and building information networks and data-centric partnerships
  • Support data management for upcoming meetings. Perform data analysis, maps, country profiles etc. as required by the technical staff

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Essential: Expert knowledge of English

 

SKILLS

  • Data management, data analysis, interpretation and programming to retrieve the data from different databases and reporting
  • Database – MS Access
  • Maps- ArcGIS

 

REMUNERATION

Your current contractual arrangements and benefits will not be affected. If your developmental assignment involves a short-term move to another duty station, you will receive the hotel component of the first 60 days DSA rate of the duty station where you will be temporarily based throughout the entire assignment. Travel costs in economy class will be covered.
