We are inspired by and associated with World Resources Institute (WRI), a global research organization. Currently over 150 researchers are working with WRI India in our offices at Delhi, Mumbai and Bengaluru.
Position Overview:
WRI India is seeking an intern for its Energy Program. Our energy access work is to support research on advancing demand-driven solutions for affordable, reliable, clean energy to power sustainable development, with a specific focus on Assam and Mizoram.
Key Responsibilities:
The intern will undertake a range of responsibilities as listed below.
  • Baseline study of existing energy policies and schemes in Mizoram.
  • Collecting, cleaning and pre-processing electricity and socio-economic data from multiple sources.
  • Documenting the data collection process.
  • Use statistical tools to analyze the data and find trends.
  • Support the team in drafting the metadata information for the collected data.
  • Validating findings with the project team through literature review and consultations.
  • Coordinate with govt agencies, experts, civil society on qualitative data collection and stakeholder consultations.
  • Communicating research findings in diverse formats (report, papers, blogs, policy briefs and issue briefs, presentations) suitable for stakeholders in government, private and non-government sectors, with a focus on influencing policy and practice.

Required Attributes and Credentials:
  • Completed or on-going higher education degree in Geoinformatics, Energy, Statistics, Data Science, Analytics, development economics, Mathematics, or related social science subjects
  • Proficiency in quantitative and qualitative data analysis is a requirement.
  • Experience in translating analyses and data interpretation into descriptive reports and presentations.
  • Working knowledge of statistical and geo-spatial databases especially with respect to Assam or Mizoram, and an understanding of the relationship between electricity access and socio-economic development is preferable.
  • Excellent/ Strong research, interpersonal/ written/ communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently as well as part of a team
  • Ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner
Duration: The internship will be for 2 months and extendable for further 2 months based on availability and requirement.
Stipend: 25000 Per Month

Location: Delhi/Bangalore/Assam/ Virtual
