Job Description

This is a hybrid position which requires 8 days/month in our Washington DC office. Existing work authorization is required at the time of application submission as WRI is unable to sponsor any visa work sponsorship for this position.

WRI has the knowledge, convening power and tools to drive change and its Global Development Department builds relationships and coordinates fundraising to help the Institute deliver results and bring about a more equitable and sustainable world. The Development Operations team is part of the Global Development Department. In its capacity as the department’s core operations function, the team strives to make Development fully capable and low risk - enhancing its operational capabilities, aligning its use of systems, establishing sustainable policies and processes, and serving as a key stakeholder of WRI’s Global operations network and systems.

Job Highlight:

Reporting to Development Operations Manager, you will provide gift administration support to the Global Development Department, including but not limited to, gift processing and acknowledgements, reporting, data quality assurance and reconciliation, and coordination with donors, the Individual Philanthropy team, and other core functions staff such as Accounting and Finance. You will be supported by the Manager for Development Operations , Senior Manager for Development Operations, Senior Manager for Operations and Strategy, Individual Philanthropy, and the Individual Philanthropy Coordinator.

What will you do:

Gift Administration (90%):

  • Lead on gift administration, ensuring swift and accurate gift processing, facilitation of batch gift acknowledgements, revenue reconciliation, and revenue reporting; ensure swift gift administration for high-touch donors
  • Maintain detailed and accurate donor and gift records, proactively tracking data integrity, entering and updating information in Salesforce
  • Serve as point of contact for stock and check donations, credit card payment processor, as well as constituents and organizations who need support making or facilitating a donation
  • Report on individual, family foundation, and planned giving revenue; manage Gift Administration dashboard and review with Individual Philanthropy team monthly

Individual Philanthropy Support (10%):

  • Attend Individual Philanthropy team meetings and provide updates on revenue raised, gift status, and acknowledgements
  • Ensure strong departmental responsiveness to donors by collaborating with Individual Philanthropy Coordinator to regularly monitor and manage Development inbox and routing donor correspondence to relationship managers and other Development staff as necessary
  • Provide ad hoc support to Individual Philanthropy team for mailings, events, and other special projects

What will you need:

  • Education: You have completed a bachelor's degree in relevant field
  • Experience: You have minimum of 2 year of full-time relevant work experience with data entry, tracking, and reporting in Salesforce or other CRM system
  • Experience working in a development operation or prior fundraising experience preferred, but not required
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Although a critical role, this position is administrative and involves performing tasks and processes on a repeated basis, so experience and comfort working in repetition and on administrative projects is preferred
  • Ability to maintain attention to detail, organization, and timeliness
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Languages: Proficiency in spoken and written English
  • Requirements: Existing work authorization is required where this position. WRI is unable to authorize visa work authorization

Potential Salary: Salary range is between 57,000 and 62,000 USD. Salary is commensurate with experience and other compensable factors. WRI offers a competitive renumeration and benefits package.
