Objective
The position is ‘Consultant - Business Model Development’ for developing inclusive business and entrepreneurial models for commercial production and distribution of 3-5 nutrient rich SIS species. The position is for WorldFish on short-term contract basis. The engagement seeks a dynamic, innovative, self-motivated, and service-oriented professional/consulting firm. The assignment has following objectives:
Scope of Work
WorldFish is implementing a project named "Taking Nutrition-Sensitive Carp-SIS Polyculture Technology to Scale" in Odisha and Assam states of India (2021-2024). The project is financially supported by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). One of its central objectives is to develop easily scalable methodologies for the mass seed production of some important SIS through the standardization of a hatchery-based breeding approach.
Developing and selecting one or more viable business models for multiplication and distribution of SIS seed is one of the interventions under the project. The technical protocols for mass seed production, nursery rearing, and transportation of selected SIS species have already been developed under the project. The present assignment is to evaluate and develop business models for commercial SIS seed production in partnership with private hatcheries, nurseries, and seed traders in the targeted locations. The expected outcome of this intervention will be to facilitate a close and effective interaction with the private sector actors, and to develop a robust value chain around the seed production and distribution of SIS species.

Evaluation and Selection
Applications will be evaluated based on the qualifications and experience of the consultant, the quality and feasibility of the proposed approach and work plan, the relevance of previous work examples and the most competitive proposal.
