ITS Vice Presidency Context: Information and Technology Solutions (ITS) enables the WBG to achieve its mission of ending extreme poverty and promote shared prosperity in a sustainable way by delivering transformative information and technologies to its staff working in over 150 locations. In this fast-paced, ever-changing world, the formulation and implementation of the ITS strategy is an ongoing, iterative process of learning and adaptation developed through extensive consultations with business partners throughout the World Bank Group. ITS shapes its strategy in response to changing business priorities and leverages new technologies to achieve three high-level business outcomes: business enablement, by providing Bank Group units with innovative digital tools and technologies to transform how they deliver value for their clients; empowerment & effectiveness, by ensuring that all Bank Group staff are connected, able to find information, and productive to accelerate the delivery of development solutions globally; and resilience, by equipping the Bank Group to provide risk-based cybersecurity and robust data protection for a global network and a growing cloud platform. Scope of Work Server Administration for ERP Infrastructure team provides infrastructure support for all the SAP and related ERP applications in the WBG. The team’s responsibilities include vBlock Converged Infrastructure management, Operating Systems, VMware virtualization, Server and Storage management and replenishments, Systems provisioning, Filesystem/DB backups, Monitoring, Security and Compliance management, Hardware/software upgrade and patch management, SAP Data refresh, and SAP application team support. It also takes care of File Data Interface systems and jobs, and Open Text Archive Center systems management. Server Administrator for ERP infrastructure will require to work in the ITSFE, a Unit of ITSFI, which is responsible for providing a wide range of technical infrastructure services to meet the institution's ERP computing needs. It provides engineering solution, architecture integration, and system administration services for SAP middle-wares, backup/restore, and HA and DR for systems resiliency. The team also manages software and hardware contracts and maintains business and technical relationship with SAP and other vendors. Roles and Responsibilities: Essential Job Functions: •Perform Converged Infrastructure Systems Administration - including VxBlock vCenter, AMP, and RCM management. •Perform Server and O/S Administration - including UCS server, Red Hat Linux, SUSE Linux - installation, configuration, upgrade, monitoring, and troubleshooting. •Configure and manage VMWare vSphere virtual servers. •Configure and manage Storage Systems - Dell EMC XtremIOn, Unity for SAP servers. •Configure and manage Network and SAN switches. •Maintain HA/DR environment for SAP servers and storage systems. •Configure and manage Printing systems and Mail systems for SAP infrastructure. •Perform Security management for all the hardware and software of ERP infrastructure. •Configure and manage Open Text Archiving servers. •Plan, install, and manage third party software, backups, and restores. •Perform daily monitoring of System Performance. •Perform daily monitoring and investigation of the System Log for unusual activities/errors/warnings. •Perform Database monitoring for usage capacity and performance. •Perform production job monitoring for errors. •Ensure daily backups are successfully completed. •Perform application of Support Packages, as agreed with the organization’s business stakeholders. •Provide client copies and refreshes, as agreed with the organization’s business stakeholders. •Provide troubleshoot analysis of application problems within the Functional and Development streams. •Serve as liaison to software vendors. •Maintain current and accurate documentation of systems configuration and standard operating procedures. •Follow ITIL processes for incident management, change management, and problem management. •Perform hardware and software asset management. •Comply with ISO 20000 and ISO 27001 standard processes.
Selection Criteria
•Education: Master's degree in Computer related majors with 8 years relevant experience OR equivalent combination of education and experience. •Role Specific Experience: 10+/8+ years of experience as a Server Administrator in managing SAP Systems/Server Infrastructure with Oracle and SAP HANA. •Experience in Linux Red Hat RHEL 7 or later versions, and SUSE Linux 15 or later versions. •Experience in managing EMC storage in SAN environment. •Experience in VMware vSphere 6.0 or later version. •Experience in Backup/HA/DR architecture setup and management. •Experience in use of ITIL processes. •Experience in ICFR control compliance of critical financial systems. •Experience in UNIX shell scripts. Experience in Python scripting is a plus. •DBA experience in Oracle or SAP HANA systems is a plus. Certification Requirements: •Converged Infrastructure, Server, or Linux certification (Required) •Certification in VMware vSphere technology, or 7+ years of on-the-job experience (Required) •Oracle DBA or SAP HANA certification (Desired) Required Skills/Abilities: •Excellent understanding of the Converged Infrastructure, UCS Servers, Linux, VMware, EMC Storage, IDPA Backup, inter-process communication, devices and device driver functionality, file system concepts. •Deep knowledge of Red Hat Linux System security, wrappers, SSH, SUDO, logging, auditing, intrusion analyses. •Following strict procedures in managing mission critical systems, including access control, data protection, audit compliance and other security requirements. •Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. •Willingness to work in flexible working hours, including weekends. Desired Skills/Abilities (not required but a plus): •Knowledge of SAP Basis Administration and Database Administration (DBA) tasks in Red Hat/SUSE Linux environment.
