RTI Health Solutions (RTI HS) provides consulting and research expertise to pharmaceutical, biotechnology, diagnostics, and medical device companies. Located across the United States (US) and Europe, our staff have led projects in over 75 countries. Our various practice areas include: Market Access and Outcomes Strategy, Health Economics, Patient Centered Outcomes Assessment, Pharmacoepidemiology and Risk Management, Biostatistics, Health Preference Assessment, and Surveys and Observational Studies.

We are currently seeking a data manager to support expansion of our real-world evidence (RWE) data collection services in Europe. As part of the Surveys and Observational Studies team, you will be responsible for a range of activities associated with the management and delivery of RWE studies.

You will be tasked with performing data management activities for our activities for prospective and retrospective data collection studies, including:

  • Data review
    • Support surveys and DCF development and provide guidance from a data management perspective
    • Design Data Management Plan
    • Perform User Acceptance Testing
    • Develop data validation and data cleaning process
    • Maintain project internal documentation up-to date
    • Support definition and implementation of good practices of data management, incl. GDPR compliance aspects
    • Perform data review of RWE studies (surveys, patient chart review studies, etc.)
  • Programming of data collection systems

To be successful in this role, you will bring your experience in data management activities including data collection form (DCF) review, testing of data collection system, design of data management plan and data validation cleaning process, as well as support/programming of data collection systems.

This role is based in Lyon, France with consideration given to remote employment in France, Germany and Switzerland.


  • Bachelor level degree in heath information management, clinical, biological or mathematical sciences or related field
  • 5 years of data management experience in a professional environment, preferably within a clinical or medical data environment or pharmaceutical company.
  • Direct experience working on chart abstraction studies or prospective observational studies
  • Experience managing multiple simultaneous projects
  • Ability to effectively apply knowledge and skills in a highly organized fashion while adhering to regulatory guidelines, SOPs and client expectations
  • Must be able to set and meet timelines or be able to recognize and schedules changes in response to project demands
  • Effective communication skills (interpersonal, written, verbal and presentation skills) in a cross-functional collaborative environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Ability to perform duties that require close attention to details.
  • Proficiency in both English in French, both written and verbal, with German being highly desirable
