Job Description

FHI 360 staff working in the United States are required to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19, regardless of the type of project or client they serve, or of their employment status (full/part-time, remote, telework, or in-office), unless an accommodation applies. FHI 360 complies with federal, state, and local laws with regard to accommodations related to this policy. Full vaccination is currently defined as two weeks after the second dose in a two-dose series, such as the Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna vaccine, or two weeks after a single-dose vaccine, such as Johnson & Johnson’s Janssen vaccine. Booster doses are not required at this time.

The DEI Project Manager will be managed jointly by the CEO and the CHRO and will support the organization’s global DEI efforts to create an environment where our differences are celebrated and embraced and where our team, partners and community members feel valued and respected.


  • Collaborate cross-functionally to establish and understand key strategic DEI workstreams, priorities and deliverables for DEI

  • Monitor the progress of DEI projects aligned to DEI strategy and roadmap and advise on adjustments necessary to ensure completion

  • Build project plans that define and refine project objectives and deliverables, identifying dependencies during the planning process.

  • Identify and assist in resolving blocking issues during the project lifecycle.

  • Develops metrics, analyzes data and reports on the efficacy of DEI projects to guide decisions and future DEI initiatives.

  • Manage DEI budget

  • Provide expertise and thought leadership from past DEI experience, current research and best practices

  • Manage and create/write reports for external DEI commitments for the organization (e.g. CREED and Interaction)

  • Develop and publish annual DEI metrics for internal and external publication

  • Develops and monitors DEI assessment tools and metrics

  • Promote transparent and effective communications regarding program progress, challenges and decisions, ensuring ongoing communication within the organization of DEI progress and actions and promoting externally for future talent acquisition needs

  • Support submission of Affirmative Action Plans and other regulatory and compliance reporting as required, integrating follow up actions into DEI program timelines


  • Bachelor’s degree in project management, business, human resources or related field

  • 8+ years of project management, DEI or equivalent experience

  • PMP and DEI certification preferred

  • International development experience

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Knowledge of EEO, labor laws and US Affirmative Action Plans

  • Proven project management and partnership skills

  • Assertive professional with the ability to navigate complex matrix organization

  • International experience with awareness of global and cultural differences and issues

  • Strong strategic/systems thinking and communications skills

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and timelines

Typical Physical Demands:

  • Typical office environment

  • Ability to spend long hours looking at computer screen and doing repetitive work on a keyboard

  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time.

  • Ability to lift/move up to 5 lbs

Technology to be Used:

  • Personal Computer/Laptop, Microsoft applications (i.e., Office 365, SharePoint, Skype/Zoom/Teams), cell phone/mobile technology, and standard office equipment
