Position Title: Senior Manager, Global Compensation and Benefits Location: US Remote, Hybrid, HQ Office, or VA Office Department: People and Culture POSITION SUMMARY Position Purpose: The Global Compensation and Benefits Manager leads Winrock global compensation and benefits programs from strategy through implementation to attract and retain world-class talent. Position Overview: This role is responsible for development, implementation and maintenance of compensation packages, bonus programs and all benefits encompassed in Winrock’s Total Rewards programs that align with organization’s strategic plan for all Winrock employees globally. Ensures delivery of fair and equitable systems that comply with internal diversity, equity and inclusivity initiatives for a global employee population and ensure appropriate donor and regulatory compliance. Facilitate efficient implementation with delivery of global policies, procedures, and practices; monitoring and evaluation methods and metrics; and training and technical assistance. Facilitate efforts to develop and leverage human capital data to inform workforce planning, decision-making, and employee engagement to contribute to a high-performing workforce. Continually analyzes compensation data within the organization and evaluates job positions to determine classification and salary. Administers employee insurance, retirement plans and policies and works with insurance brokers and plan carriers. Implements new, approved, or modified plans and employee benefit policies, and supervises administration of existing plans. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES Major Responsibilities Compensation Ready and deliver a competitive and global Total Rewards Program which contributes to desired employee retention. Deliver fair and equitable systems and practice for a global employee population and ensure appropriate donor and regulatory compliance and aligned with Winrock’s mission and operating and funding contexts. Monitor and evaluate and deliver regular reporting and opportunities for improvement. Manage, develop, and facilitate implementation of global salary administration and employee benefits programs in more than 30 countries to competitively position the organization, ensure internal equity, and offer agility for multiple operating and funding environments. Monitor and evaluate. Facilitate efforts to streamline and enhance global mobility policies and practices. Work with People & Culture leadership to develop and implement operational and administrative policies, procedures, and practices. Investigate compensation issues thoroughly and sees the issue through to resolution, applying knowledge of compensation policies and procedures to issues and recommending solutions. Assists in conducting job analysis for positions to ensure appropriate compensation levels are established and maintained. Reviews requests for new or revised classifications. As needed, review FLSA exemption status, document review and recommendations. Benefits Manages all aspects of employee benefits, to include, but not limited to health insurance, dental, vision, short term disability (STD), long term disability (LTD), basic and voluntary life insurance, flexible spending account plans, employee assistance programs (EAP), and retirement programs. Monitors employee eligibility for the Retirement Plan and ensures accuracy of plan contributions to payroll. Leads and coordinates with various vendors to carry out the US Employee Wellness Program. Acts as the Leave Administrator ensuring compliance with all federal and state regulations regarding FMLA and leave benefit programs; identifies the appropriate course of action; guides and oversees both employee and supervisor expectations for leave management; coordinates leave payments with payroll to ensure accuracy. Ensures compliance with all government benefits mandates. Evaluate and report on the effectiveness of employee benefit programs. Registers and manages all workers comp claims including follow up with employees, medical providers and insurance companies as needed. Acts as point of contact for employee requests for information regarding comp and benefits; act as spokesperson between employees and benefit providers to help resolve benefit inquiries. Leads the comp and benefits team to develop benefits information and statistical and census data for insurance broker to use in obtaining quotes for medical insurance, short and long-term disability, life insurance and accidental death and dismemberment. Total Rewards and Employee Satisfaction Conduct research on employee satisfaction using comprehensive surveys related to compensation and quantitative data. Maintains and uses knowledge of labor trends to keep management updated on current industry rewards policies and practices. Assists with oversight of a system of records retention for employee information. Prepares internal communications for staff regarding policies, benefits, and procedures. Conducts job analysis for positions to ensure appropriate compensation levels are established and maintained. Reviews requests for new or revised classifications. As needed, review FLSA exemption status, document review and recommendations. Coordinates the yearly salary increase and promotion process with Finance to ensure timely administration and notification to staff. Serves as direct supervisor to the compensation and benefits team. Participates in strategic planning for human resource functions and services; recommends goals and objectives and oversees and/or participates in the development and implementation of human resources policies and procedures. Performs other duties as requested. POSITION QUALIFICATIONS Education: Bachelor’s degree in business related field required. Master’s degree desired. Experience: Minimum of 7 years of relevant working experience required. PHR certification and exposure to international HR desired. Previous supervisory experience required Computer/Technical Skills: Microsoft Office experience required (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, etc.). HRIS software experience required. Strong Excel skills required. Communication Skills: Advanced written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to evaluate and analyze data and make substantive recommendations to departmental and organizational leaders. Language: Fluent in English required. Secondary language a plus. Required Travel: Occasional domestic and international travel may be required. Position-Specific Skills: Team player with the ability to add value by applying total quality principles to People processes. Excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to prioritize, plan, organize, and work effectively, using independent judgment to complete assignments and meet timelines. Possess an excellent work attitude and the ability and willingness to take ownership/responsibility for project completion; demonstrated ability to provide initiative in meeting expectations and accomplishing required tasks. Ability to maintain strict confidentiality in all aspects of assignments. Physical Demands: Typical office environment with continual sitting or standing required. Must be authorized to work in the United States.
