We are looking for an extraordinary, dedicated entrepreneur to join our team to lead our country office in Turkey. If you are an accomplished leader who has built or grown an organization from start-up to maturity; has conceived big ideas with large scale impact; has 10+ years of experience in social and/or private sectors; is excited about growing global and local networks; and are looking for the next big challenge, this position is for you.

Role Description

  • Develop and implement country strategy/ focus area that is aligned with the Global and regional strategies,

  • Ensure relevant social impact/output measures and knowledge management systems (such as CRM etc.) are in place,

  • Undertake fundraising and ensure the financial health of the country office by fundraising for all revenues needed and by revenue planning and cost control,

  • Build and develop a strong, lean and globally connected team that is aligned with the regional/Global strategy,

  • Represent Ashoka Turkey as a spokesperson vis-a-vis high level partners, events, media,

  • Ensure compliance in operations in legal entity and governance, labor regulations, financial compliance and reporting,

  • Participate in regional and global meetings of country representatives and add value to the regional outcome goals.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Professional experience in the social sector and/or private sector for at least 10 years

  • Ability to work productively, proactively, and independently

  • Fluent in written and spoken Turkish and English

  • Experience in partnerships building and fundraising

  • Excellent interpersonal and networking skills

  • Excellent organizational skills and time management

  • Excellent attention to detail

  • Strong ability to design processes and manage programs

  • Creative thinker and problem solver

  • Team builder and coordinator

  • Comfortable with building new relationships

  • At ease with using basic computer tools such as CRM systems, Microsoft Office, or equivalent programs

  • At ease with being part of international teams
