UN Women works closely with the National Commission for Lebanese Women (NCLW) and other actors to develop legislative and policy solutions and options to address gender discrimination in Lebanon, and to lobby for their passage. To this end, UN Women is hiring a legal advisor to sit within the NCLW team and support the commission in its work to address Lebanon’s legislative framework on women’s rights and gender equality. The person will help NCLW implement the Women Peace and Security National Action Plan specifically priority number V (Normative Framework), and will set NCLW’s legislative workplan, review legislative options and convene advocacy and coordination meetings between NCLW, political actors and civil society stakeholders.
Objective of the Assignment:
Reporting to the President of NCLW, with a dotted reporting line to the Head of UN Women in Lebanon, the Legal Advisor will be responsible for supporting NCLW’s work to address Lebanon’s gender discriminatory laws and policies, and for coordinating its work in this regard with other political actors, and civil society actors.

Required Skills and Experience
Individual consultants will be evaluated based on the following methodology: Only candidates obtaining a minimum of 49 points in the technical evaluation would be considered for the financial evaluation.
Criteria Weight Technical: 70% (70 points)
Financial: Lowest Financial Proposal: 30% (30 points)
